A panel commissioned by Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.) is recommending nearly $1 trillion in cuts to the Pentagons budget over the next 10 years.
The Sustainable Defense Task Force, a commission of scholars from a broad ideological spectrum appointed by Frank, the House Financial Services Committee chairman, laid out actions the government could take that could save as much as $960 billion between 2011 and 2020.

Next election we need to pool our money and get rid of this Cork Sucker. I don’t even care if it is a moderate Democrat. He needs to go.
With each passing day, they are pushing our nation closer to the edge of open rebellion. I believe it.
I believe they want open rebellion so they can “postpone” the elections.
“The Democrat Party: Gutting Our Military Since 1945.”
What are you talking about? Korea and Vietnam were Democrat wars.
While I’m certain that these recommendations are crap, the defense budget is an over-bloated turd. Mostly because we overpay for just about everything.
cut the pork spending on bridges to nowhere.
We seriously need to get rid of this butt-hogger. He’s a menace and an embarrassment.

See any "Conservatives" there? Nope.
If military procurement decisions could be insulated from Congressional influence and extended over multi-year purchase and amortization cycles, Pentagon spending would be far more efficient.
A panel commissioned by Rep. Barney Frank orders white flag.
Truth in Advertising:
“Fearing loss of power, Democrats expedite the Destruction of America agenda.”
Says Barney, “We’ve got Bolsheviks, Menshevicks, Trotskyites, anarcho-syndicalists,...Just to show you how broad it is, we’ve even got some Shining Path Maoists, two Quakers and a guy who used to be in the Bader-Meinhof gang. Now does that cover the ideological spectrum, or what?”
The invasion of Korea was the direct result of Truman’s mishandling of the situation. Our military had been cut dramatically in the immediate post war era and our forces were left using old, WWII weapons and aircraft for the early part of the war.
Vietnam was mishandled from the start and McNamara spent a lot of time screwing up things like the F-111 system.
Jimmy Carter cut our military by about 50%, cutting the Navy from 600 ships to 300. Reagan had to rebuild much of our military. Then Clinton comes along and cuts it 50% again. We couldn’t even train our forces because of the lack of ammo and spare parts. Gen. Clark got embarrassed in Bosnia when the Apache helicopter kept crashing because of lack of maintenance.
Now Obama is starting the expected Democrat disarmament all over again. One day, may soon, we are going to be caught too short to recover.
"What kind of political books do you have in here?"
"Oh, we've got both kinds: communist and socialist!"
these clowns must all have the word “sustainable” tatooed on their hides someplace
Yes, and the Democrats have a history of defunding and dismantling the military following every major conflict. Truman did it after WWII and it had to be reversed by Eisenhower. Task Force Smith was a disaster at the beginning of the Korean conflict because it was undermanned, poorly trained and badly equipped with obsolete weapons. Carter did the same in the late 70’s (resulting in the Desert One fiasco) until Reagan reversed it in the 80’s. Clinton did it following the end of the Cold War (the so-called “peace dividend”). So watch for Obama to do the same after Afghanistan and Iraq - Bawney Fwank’s little commission is the first step.
