After Teen's Death, Is an Intifadeh Coming to the U.S.-Mexican Border? (Blood Pressure Warning)
Yahoo News ^ | 6/11/2010 | Yahoo News

The killing of a 15-year-old Mexican boy by a U.S. Border Patrol agent on June 7, in the corridor between El Paso, Texas, and Juarez, Mexico, has conjured an eerie as well as tragic image on both sides of the Rio Grande. The incident involved Mexican youths throwing rocks at U.S. border cops who were arresting migrants crossing illegally into Texas. But local leaders like El Paso City Councilman Beto O'Rourke fear it reflects - and could further stoke - larger, festering border tensions. "The rocks versus guns picture is not one we want here," says O'Rourke. "It looks too much like Israel and Palestine for comfort."

O'Rourke is hardly the only border resident making that comparison this week. In the wake of Arizona's angry crackdown on illegal immigrants - and as President Obama plans to send 1,200 federal troops to beef up security along America's porous, 2,000-mile-long the southern frontier - border watchers fear the increasingly confrontational climate is encouraging U.S. border authorities to respond with heavier force. "I worry that officers may feel emboldened now to see themselves not just as law enforcement but as soldiers on a battlefield, defending the country against an invading enemy of Mexicans," says University of Texas-El Paso political science professor Tony Payan. Said Mexico's Foreign Ministry: "The growing frequency of this kind of event reflects a troubling trend in the use of excessive force by some border agents." (See the battle of Arizona: will a border crackdown work?)

If we had a real president, he would just shut down the flow of cash going to Mexico, I mean all of it. Stop all purchases from Pemex, Cemex, Bimbo bakeries, Corona beer, and on and on. Then let them twist in the wind until they do something about their lawless northern frontier.

We really have never had a border down there, but with the increasing violence of their “citizens”, something needs to be done to get their attention. This would do it.

Pay attention: Holder and company may attempt to railroad the BP officers involved in these incidents. They want to please the Mexicans and pander to the dual loyalty hyphenated Americans. They will want to intimidate other BP officers, discouraging them from enforcing the law and protecting America. This Administration clearly does not want to protect the Border and is holding enforcement—their sworn responsibility—hostage to amnesty.

Well, it fits the leftist template. Rich, white Americans versus poor, oppressed Mexicans. Of course, the Mexicans could be accurately described as poor and oppressed because of their country’s government, and the depredations of drug smugglers.

Don't know about all that, but shutting down the methods used to ‘repatriate’ money from the illegal aliens up here to their family down there sure would make em holler!

......BUILD THE WALL, NOW!.....

The wall is not nearly as effective as death. Just look at what one measly death has stirred up.

Looks that way already. I don't understand what the big deal is. Teenage criminals get shot by potential victims, LEOs and fellow criminals all the time.

The BP better watch their backs, Holder is coming for them.

These aren't kids throwing pebbles at the Officers. They are hurling huge boulders at them...totally capable of inflicting severe injury or even death.

Because we sent Ramos and Compeon to prison for merely shooting a drug dealer in the butt, we have empowered these people to think they can get away with anything.

An intifada? Now the MSM is even going to publish articles comparing the Israel-Palestinian situation to the US-Mexican situation? I guess next they will claim that NO PEACE AGREEMENT will be discussed unless Eastern Pheonix is established as the new Hispanic Capitol.

And an incident like this happens JUST AFTER the Mexican President CAME ON OUR SOIL and was allowed an open mic to criticize OUR policies. Coincidence? I think not!

I just heard, on Fox a guy, I think the Mayor of El Paso, but I was not paying complete attention until he said this. He said that there is xenophobia (that is basically racism) in the US and the interviewer let him get away with referring to this as about immigration. I am so sick and tired of even FOX NEWS letting this be about immigration. We are losing because they have framed the argument about immigration, not illegal invasion.

So in Mexico today, we had 59 executions related to drugs. And 1 youth shot and killed at the border. OUTRAGE is poured out about the 1 shot by Americans, and of the 59 that died, business as usual, no one even noticed. Sad epitome of ridiculous hypocrisy.
