Is Hillary Changing Jobs?
Rumors are ricocheting through Washington that Secretary of Defense Robert Gates wants to retire--and that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton may soon replace him as Secretary of Defense.
And why not? The woman who campaigned for the Democratic presidential nomination with a TV ad declaring her readiness to fight has more than proven her grit in the last year. She stood up to Korea, blasted Pakistan, got pissed at Israel, came to terms with China.

One step closer to running for CIC in 2012.
To: SCPatriot77
Wouldn’t that be a step down from Secretary of State?

This alternate reality/joke night.....right?
Manchurian candidate’s administration becomes more surreal.

Grooming for the big job...in 2012.
But, based on her past behavior, here "resume'" doesn't mean $#!+. Holding a "title" is not "doing the job"...just look at obama.

I'm sorry, but as a guy who wore the uniform for a quarter century and with kids who are currently wearing the uniform, I'm not comfortable having someone lead the Department of Defense who has never served in any branch of the Armed Forces.
Would we have someone run the Department of Justice who never practiced law, or NIH who never practiced medicine, or education who never instructed a student (assuming we should even have a DOE)?

Take this blog as you see it. . . I was laughing honestly.

"Wouldnt that be a step down from Secretary of State?" I would say yes, although it's only a tiny step down. But clearly, the SOS is ahead of the SecDef in the order of succession, if that means anything.

As a veteran too, I couldn’t agree more, DeckHand.
