Glassman: Give me McCain
Politico ^ | 2010-06-10 | Shira Toeplitz

Democrats may be salivating over the possibility of running against former Rep. J.D. Hayworth in the Arizona Senate race this fall, but Tucson City Councilman Rodney Glassman says he'd rather end up campaigning against Sen. John McCain, the incumbent battling back a primary challenge from Hayworth.

Glassman, the leading Democrat in the Senate race, said he thinks McCain would be an easier target because voters are tired of incumbency – and McCain's already been in the Senate for four terms.

"The's election is a job application, it's a job interview for a six-year irrevocable employment contract," Glassman told POLITICO. "And you've heard the definition of insanity? Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result? I don't know many Arizonans who would hire John McCain and give him a six-year irrevocable employment contract after his previous performance for the past 28 years of ignoring our state."

Here is what will happen. If McCain loses then the Dems will try to win in AZ. They know McCain is a Democrat.

McCain is a Dem pretending to be a Republican. Go Hayworth! Arizona Republicans need to wake up, and realize that Hayworth is representing them by running against a Manchurian candidate who has polluted the party and America.

This Dem has never heard of a recall or impeachment.

My advice is not to fall for this rope-a-dope with you being the dope.

Vote for the person who will best represent you instead of what the establishment says. If it is McCain then go for it. If it is Hayworth go for it.

Don’t play this Jedi mind tricks.

The Politico? Now THAT’S a good, dependable, non-biased publication. Sort of like the WaPo.

McCain is a Dem pretending to be a Republican.

Disagree. McCain is an opportunist pretending to be whatever he needs to be. That's when he's in election mode.

Once he's in elected mode, McCain is an opportunist pretending to be whatever the media wants him to be.

I would agree with you providing it is understood that when McCain is pretending to be a conservative he is lying, and when he is pretending to be a liberal, he is just being the Democrat he is.

We can, of course, disagree over this. Only McCain really knows...and even he may not.

Personally, I don't believe McCain has any core beliefs at all, anymore. Maybe, at one time, he did. But no longer.

Well, save one core belief: Whatever's good for McCain...

Wondeer when all the Liberal RINOs will come out and claim “McCain cannot win the general election”? Its the crap they use against JD Hayworth

The Dems know that McCain is much more beatable. More than just his incumbency....but his flip flopping on the issues. Will McCain become Juan McAmnesty for the general election....or continue his phony “tough on the border” garbage

Well that is a point. Your prediction might come true. If even the yellow dogs are fed up with the border problem, they might not play games in the primaries. Let us hope for luck ... uh ... good fortune. [Even Anachan Skywalker spoke of ‘good fortune’. And his mediclurion count was top rate.]
