NCAA FINALLY slaps the USC program down. Guess we now know why Pete Carroll split for the NFL.

NO word on whether the forfieture of games in 2004 will also cause them to be stripped of their National Championship for that Season.

My UConn men’s basketball program has been having problems also.

“Guess we now know why Pete Carroll split for the NFL. “

It’s a shame that a coach can screw so many people and escape without paying a penalty. Everybody thought Pete Carroll was such a stand up guy. Yeah, about as stand up as Nick Saban.

This is a lesson to college administrators, police your sports programs, or you may find yourself in this situation.

Guess we now know why Pete Carroll split for the NFL.

I'd have to go back through months of FR posts to prove this, but this is exactly what I speculated a while back when the rumors of his departure from USC first surfaced.

“It’s time,” Carroll said. “I’m excited for it, for everybody. Most of all, I’m excited to be represented by him around the world.”””

Not good for college football. Big loss of TV revenue. Everybody is going to feel it in their pockets.

The ncaa investigated USC for almost 5 years, and all they got was ONE family of ONE athlete got illegal benefits, and that athlete may (it’s disputed) have gotten benefits, too. The benefits did not come from any booster, or anyone connected with the university. The only one who said the university knew, is a convicted perjurer, who fingered one assistant coach, who denies all this.

Oh yes, there was the football player who drove his girlfriend’s car, where the car was financed by her employer who is not an agent or a “booster”.

What a farce. USC’s real sin was winning.

Hired Kiffin just in time! Man, Tennessee is lucky Kiffin left and saved them from their biggest hiring mistake in decades!

Hey, Lane. You can go ahead and feel free to make those Christmas and New Year’s plans. Won’t be anything getting in the way.
