KINGMAN - The Mojave County Attorney's office confirmed late Wednesday that a judge has dismissed charges against Warren Jeffs. Jeffs was facing several charges of Sexual Conduct with a Minor.

In the motion filed late Wednesday afternoon, the Mojave County Attorney outlined several reasons to dismiss the charges against the polygamist leader. Those include: Jeffs has already served more jail time than he would have served if convicted. Also, the paperwork says the State of Texas has much more serious charges lodged against Jeffs. And, some of the State's witnesses no longer wish to testify in the case.

“already served more jail time than he would have served if convicted”

Thinking that was the key, thought they still could have convicted him for the record

“Dark day for justice.”

Agree. This scumbag should do life in prison w/o possibility of parole for doing what he did to those kids.

Hello Mr. Jeffs. Welcome to Texas.

Sorry, Texas. Mr. Jeffs will be delayed:

"The court ordered the sheriff's office to transport Jeffs back to Utah, where his 2007 convictions on two counts of rape as an accomplice are on appeal. He was sentenced to two consecutive terms of five years to life in prison for the charges, which involved Jeffs' role in the marriage of an underage follower to her husband."

From the 1856 Republican platform: "...it is both the right and the imperative duty of Congress to prohibit in the Territories those twin relics of barbarism — Polygamy, and Slavery."

Question for the 2012 platform committee: What religion promotes both of these today?

I’m gonna take a stab at this. Islam. Except I take exception to the use of the word ‘religion’ in the description thereof.

I see this as a money and power grab.. 300 kids taken into custody virtually no charges.. Come on.. wake up and smell the coffee..

IMO some crooked lawyers got together and said to each other.

“Hey, these people are sort of on the fringes their women wear their hair funny and the men work middle class jobs..

A Christian sect that has amassed a considerable fortune in cash, and property in 3-4 states as well as several multimillion dollar a year business.. YUM!!!

Let’s make up a bunch of crap and seize their assets..

Let’s call them all “child molesters”.. yeah that’s the ticket. It worked before in WACO..

Kidnap 300 Children then have to return them because they were taken for bogus reasons.. and we still should belive their accusers?

IMO That’s the real game in this case.

Any group of any size is going to have one or more persons from time to time run afoul with the law.

This was a money and power grab from the beginning and it is starting to unravel..

I hope I'm wrong but I think s/he might be a dimwit suggesting it's Mormons.

Clearing the way for extradition to the State of Texas where he is charged with first degree sexual assault of a child and bigamy.

Texas has already started extradition proceedings.
