If you add up the total votes cast for Democrat candidates in the governor race, it comes to 1,040,000. The total number of Republican votes was 1,073,000.

I don't know if that means anything, but I can hope.

“I am SO tired of having to choose the lessor evil!”

Then get out of politics. 9 times out of 10 that’s what it comes down to.

Hey folks, you don’t have to vote for the woman or the Moonbat. But don’t stay home and sulk on election day. If you don’t like either candidate simply do a NOTA (none of the above) write in. Enough of you do it and the word will get out.

The idea is that neither of these people get anything resembling a “mandate”.

If she cannot beat Brown, then God help us all.

We did the Jerry Brown thing already, though, and the results were not good. Unfortunately, most of us who lived through those days are long gone from the state.

She was succeeded by Dunn, but before her departure she launched an extensive search of the boardroom for leaks. I think they found one guy, not sure if it was Kenneth Wayman.

When Carleton took over HP the stock was @$52.00. When she left it was @$21.00.

“(All lefties hate Laffer)”

That would be news to Laffer. Art Laffer openly backed Obama for president.

There’s no reason to any more. Our open borders pals did a fine job of immigrating California into a permanently liberal bastion. You import millions of the third world and give them the vote and this is what happens. No surprise here. Arizona decided to save themselves before they become the next California. The leaders of the Stupid Party probably won’t get the lesson.

What do we get if Gerry Brown is governor, not Whitman?

Has Brown ever seen a tax or union pay hike he didn’t like? Has he ever cut one government program?

It is not like my choice is Whitman vs. none of the above. SOMEBODY becomes governor. I can hold my nose and vote for Whitman or I can sit back in disgust and let Gerry Brown get elected.

So again, if a Governor Whitman will give us 4 more years of $20 billion budget crises ala Arnold, what do we get under Brown? 4 years of $80 billion budget crisis or 90% taxes and gas taxes of $4/gallon?

It is nice that somebody here remembers the disaster that was Gerry Brown’s first reign of terror.

There is no such thing as a fiscal conservative and social liberal. This is like being a pregnant virgin. The two cannot possibly co-exist.

Social liberals need to extort tax money to pay for all of their socialist giveaways. You can’t do that and maintain the economic principles of a fiscal conservative. Therefore, fiscal conservatism is mutually exclusive with social liberalism.

Therefore there is no such thing as a fiscal conservative social liberal. The social liberalism wins out overy time as the liberal extorts taxes and fees to pay for these entitlements.

It means the Republican base was motivated.

Gerry Brown ran virtulaly unopposed so a lot of Democrats probably didn’t bother to cast a vote for governor. With Brown guaranteed to win the Democratic nomination, I am sure some Democrat voters didn’t bother going to the polls.

I didn’t say he didn’t support them. It does change the fact they find his ideas anathema. Laffer is still against government healthcare, and I don’t need to talk about his ideas on taxation.
