First post ever. I would like to suggest that those who get so annoyed at repeat breaking news posts try to chill a bit and remember that there are four time zones in the U.S.. Also people in other countries check in for news.
I am in Alaska and by 6:00 am my time it is already 10:00 on the East coast; so what some Freeper addicts may have seen before is new news to us in Alaska.
So be kind and don't get so annoyed; there are way more important things to get wound up about.
Conversely, why does a poster of a thread care if someone tells him the article has already been posted? He couldn't be bothered to search for it.
What is that supposed to mean?
What is that supposed to mean?
Repeated posts don’t annoy me all that much. One way to help avoid a duplicate post is do a search before posting something you think is new. It’s not foolproof if several people are posting at nearly the same time.
Did you search before posting? The search tool is your friend (when used correctly).
How would you know what to search for if its breaking.
far too much bellyaching all the way around on FR, IMO. the political situation is depressing enough without all the backbiting and carping that goes on here amongst the like-minded — especially over the insignificant day to day crap.
BTTT = “bump to the top”
Another way to keep a thread active and to add it to your “posting comments” (to refer back to it later)...
I think i see the problem...it’s 6:00 am and you’re not logged on to FR yet ? are you really a Freepr ?

I can’t stand posting nazis. They have nothing to say for themselves but are the hall monitors asking for your pass. Who the hell cares if there are multiple posts, grammar mistakes or spelling issues. Just STFU and let people post, no one gave you authority to blow a whistle and throw a flag.
I also don’t mind the additional threads as I usually miss the first few, not to mention, as you said, time zones make a difference and there is usually more to the story later.
I rarely post news stories here but when I do, I try to make doubly sure that the story hasn't already been posted. Especially if it's "Breaking news."
If theres one thing more irritating than repeat posts, its repeat comments.
If theres one thing more irritating than repeat posts, its repeat comments.

Actually, I skip over them and say to myself...”Where the heck is the NEW news???”
"We need to stay united..."
...behind the candidate of my choice.
I hate people who HAVE to be post #100.;
I say again, I hate people who HAVE to be post #100.
