utchman Joran van der Sloot, long the prime suspect in the 2005 disappearance of a U.S. teen in Aruba, has confessed to killing a young Peruvian woman in his Lima hotel room last week, a police spokesman said.

Peru's chief police spokesman, Col. Abel Gamarra, told The Associated Press that Van der Sloot admitted under police questioning Monday that he killed 21-year-old Stephany Flores on May 30.

According to La Republica newspaper, Van der Sloot told officials he broke Flores' neck in a rage after he discovered she had used his notebook computer without permission and learned he was involved in the disappearance of Holloway.

Wonder if there was persuasion involved?

Uh, you mean to tell me this guy had information on his laptop that he was involved in Holloway's disappearance??? Did this laptop get checked in Aruba?? Or is this information about his extortion of Beth Holloway?

"The girl intruded into my private life."

I've been away from the single scene for 30+ years, but as I recall that was sort of the point.

Ancient Incan persuasion techniques is my guess. Left no marks. Guess a Peruvian prison stay might leave marks though.

Have always wondered what actually happened to the Holloway girl, maybe her family and the world might get to know ... if the investigation or prosecution re-starts. His dad though was a judge, I think, and may have enough influence to put it off. Unfortunately, these things happen in the world. Glad Peru is out of dad’s reach, at least he will meet justice there.

"The girl intruded into my private life."

Well, then there now. That makes it perfectly understandable - in the mind of a sociopath.

Of course, taking her life wasn't an 'intrusion' into HER life.

BTW, I'm guessing Peru doesn't have a Miranda Law. ;o)

And with daddy dead and not able to come to the rescue with his bribery money...and evidently on the outs with mamah ...he's finally cooked his goose - especially killing the daughter of a prominent Peruvian.

I hear Peruvian jails are rather more unpleasant than U.S. jails. Great.

Van Der Sloot’s father is dead and can’t protect him anymore.

His father is dead. He no longer has a get out-of-jail card. They don't work in Peru anyway. And the Peruvian girl's father was 2 times a Presidential candidate. Very bad outlook for the killer.

DontTreadOnMe2009 to Scanian
The Holloway case has followed many twists and turns. Two years ago, a Dutch television crime reporter captured hidden-camera footage of van der Sloot saying he was with Holloway when she collapsed on a beach from being drunk. He said he believed she was dead and asked a friend to dump her body in the sea. Judges subsequently refused to arrest van der Sloot on the basis of the tape.

The journalist, Peter de Vries, reported later in 2008 that he had documented van der Sloot recruiting Thai women in Bangkok for sex work in the Netherlands.

I don’t believe this POS’s original story -—

if you are on the beach with a girl and she suddenly goes unconscious, you don’t say Oh shit let’s find a place to bury the body;

you call an ambulance or call the cops.

I think he beat the first one to death on the beach, just like the second, and so had to hide the body cuz there was no way to explain away the injuries ...

I read he beat the second one so badly she was unrecognizable with one eye out ...

Sorry everyone.

I think he, and his father, cruise casinos for young girls and then -— did you read? -— when things go wrong the judge father advises punky boy “If there is no body there is no case”. I also read that the father helped dispose of the first body.

Everyone for years kept saying Oh Natalie must have passed out, taken drugs, drunk too much ........

Or did she just say something to this frowning low brow creep that set him off? Just as, it seems, did the girl from the casino ... at 5 AM ... in Peru.

Girls:

Don’t go back to hotels rooms with really ugly scowling b*stards at 5 AM ——— go home instead !!!

all she would have had to do was enter his name - and up would come pages and pages of info. She must have done it while he was out getting the coffee. I wonder if she would have had time to split before he came back or he got back to fast - or she made the fatal mistake of staying to confront him. (Of course, her 'fatal mistake' was going to the hotel with someone she didn't know in the first place.)

This slimeball kid’s Dad is dead and getting his justice as we speak.

I sure hope Beth gets the answers that she has been demanding all these years. Too bad another young woman had to die to get this creep to talk. So very sad.

For all the tumult and anguish he has caused to two families he should be executed in a painful way. Unfortunately no death penalty in Peru unless a prison murder is arranged by the father of the Peruvian lady he killed.

‘I did not want to do it,’ paper quotes suspect as saying in death of Peruvian woman. Dutch citizen was also a suspect in Natalee Holloway case.
