Uh, you mean to tell me this guy had information on his laptop that he was involved in Holloway's disappearance??? Did this laptop get checked in Aruba?? Or is this information about his extortion of Beth Holloway?

"The girl intruded into my private life."

I've been away from the single scene for 30+ years, but as I recall that was sort of the point.

"The girl intruded into my private life."

Well, then there now. That makes it perfectly understandable - in the mind of a sociopath.

Of course, taking her life wasn't an 'intrusion' into HER life.

BTW, I'm guessing Peru doesn't have a Miranda Law. ;o)

And with daddy dead and not able to come to the rescue with his bribery money...and evidently on the outs with mamah ...he's finally cooked his goose - especially killing the daughter of a prominent Peruvian.

I hear Peruvian jails are rather more unpleasant than U.S. jails. Great.

DontTreadOnMe2009 to Scanian
The Holloway case has followed many twists and turns. Two years ago, a Dutch television crime reporter captured hidden-camera footage of van der Sloot saying he was with Holloway when she collapsed on a beach from being drunk. He said he believed she was dead and asked a friend to dump her body in the sea. Judges subsequently refused to arrest van der Sloot on the basis of the tape.

The journalist, Peter de Vries, reported later in 2008 that he had documented van der Sloot recruiting Thai women in Bangkok for sex work in the Netherlands.

I don’t believe this POS’s original story -—

if you are on the beach with a girl and she suddenly goes unconscious, you don’t say Oh shit let’s find a place to bury the body;

you call an ambulance or call the cops.

I think he beat the first one to death on the beach, just like the second, and so had to hide the body cuz there was no way to explain away the injuries ...

I read he beat the second one so badly she was unrecognizable with one eye out ...

Sorry everyone.

I think he, and his father, cruise casinos for young girls and then -— did you read? -— when things go wrong the judge father advises punky boy “If there is no body there is no case”. I also read that the father helped dispose of the first body.

Everyone for years kept saying Oh Natalie must have passed out, taken drugs, drunk too much ........

Or did she just say something to this frowning low brow creep that set him off? Just as, it seems, did the girl from the casino ... at 5 AM ... in Peru.

Girls:

Don’t go back to hotels rooms with really ugly scowling b*stards at 5 AM ——— go home instead !!!

For all the tumult and anguish he has caused to two families he should be executed in a painful way. Unfortunately no death penalty in Peru unless a prison murder is arranged by the father of the Peruvian lady he killed.

“The girl intruded into my private life.”

Dang, the same thing happened to me. But my girl became part of my private life, and I love her for it.

Poor girl... probably goes to check her e-mail or Facebook page while he’s out getting a cup of coffee, stumbles on his diary, and sets the monster off. There’s a lesson in here about computer security, too.

Phil Keating on FoxNews just reported that the max sentence would be 35 years, but inmates typically serve only about 6-8 years.

The ‘confession’ could also have been the result of negotiating for a lighter sentence.

It will be interesting to see what is on his computer that was literally worth killing for. That data could be incriminating in other jurisdictions.

It is rather interesting that justice is served in these cases. The nexus between the original crime and the ultimate consequence may be attenuated, but Justice is served.

Finally Van der Sloot’s money and luck has run out. Unfortunately, at the expense of the life of another young woman. Thank God that Holloway’s mother kept up the pressure, made Van der Sloot’s name and face recognizable everywhere. Maybe she will finally get some answers and peace.
