Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) went where few of his congressional colleagues were willing to go last week a town hall event with his constituents.
During an event in the wealthy Phoenix suburb of Scottsdale on Thursday, McCain faced hostile questions about amnesty for illegal immigrants, waterboarding terrorism suspects and why he hasn't debated primary opponent J.D. Hayworth, according to the Arizona Republic.
"You won't have any debates; you're afraid of J.D. Hayworth," said Scottsdale resident Richard Martin, who kept interrupting McCain. "The people in Arizona deserve debates."
McCain's experience is an interesting one, as The New York Times reported Sunday that Democrats avoided town halls during the Memorial Day recess.
"[M]any Democrats heeded the advice of party leaders and tried to avoid unscripted question-and-answer sessions," the Times reported. "The recommendations were clear: hold events in controlled settings a bank or credit union, for example or tour local businesses or participate in community service projects."

The primary isn’t til Aug and he won’t be able to hold on til then. Look for JD and the Tea Party to eat into his lead.
Pray for America
McCain will be at a TownHall in my city next month and we’re having a private reception before for my Republican Women’s Club. It’s going to be interesting. Mohave County is not exactly McCain territory.
I sure hope he loses. He’s symptomatic of so much that’s wrong with the GOP. If people like him start going down, maybe the message will get through.
J.D. Hayworth was given time to speak, and sorry to tell you folks, he was not impressive or was anything he said, memorable. Except for hatred for McCain, I don't think he could pull anyone to his side for the merits of his ideas or character alone.
I am a tea party member, but our other darling candidate, Jesse Kelley was not nearly as compelling as Andy Goss, also a contender for U.S. Rep. Gabby Giffords seat, who was so self-confident he said, “I am asking-—no, I am demanding your vote.”

The arrogance of these people - Grayson, Baron Hill, Kennedy, etc. - is only exceeded by their incompetence. If the people of AZ reelect this pompous a$$, we truly deserve the government we get.
I’ve heard Hayworth speak many times. He’s compelling. A much better speaker than McCain, and much more coherent.

For all the talk about ‘charisma’ etc....McCain is the least likable, worst speaker I’ve ever seen. It’s funny, isn’t it....when all the ‘must have’ requirements of the rino’s for a candidate just don’t seem to apply to John McCain. This guy has skated for decades on no credibility...time to go!
Listen Up! Great New Tune!
Flush the John! McCains Got to Go!
