To create a "crisis" and provide a basis for the takeover of the energy industry, stop all drilling and pass the cap-N-tax scheme.
rodguy, there are two parts to this.
The first part (the explosion and leak) are the responsibility of BP, who should (and will) pay for the damage.
The second part, preventing the oil from coming to shore, was the responsibility of the federal government. BY LAW. And he did NOTHING for at least a week other than have meetings, he has REFUSED the help of other countries, he ignored Bobby Jindal’s request for expedited help for berms, and has spent all of his time threatening people at BP and sending lawyers to the Gulf (in my opinion, to lock up any evidence). Acquaintances in New Orleans tell me the area is crawling with FEMA and Homeland Security, but they are doing NOTHING.
THAT is the part that is Obama’s fault. He should have mustered every available resource, from the Saudi tankers to those guys who think bales of hay would work, and had all of it poured into the Gulf. Instead he just poses for pictures.
Hopefully Rush is over his demons and this marriage will work. A woman has to take alot of personal attacks to be married to someone as hated as he is.
Pray for America
We found the link on the thread I was on and several hours later the link did not work---amazing coincidence.
She’s getting a pass for saying what the liberal establishment believes.
Pray for America
For sure bray and as I said on that other “bash Rush thread,” he’s last on my list to go after.
......THAT is the part that is Obamas fault.......
The sorting out process will be interesting.
If BP sues the federal government for inaction that exacerbated the problems with the oil slick and forces production of e mails within the White House gleefully discussing the political advantage that can be gained, Obama will have to pay up.
BP on the other hand has a well and can contribute a percentage of the revenue stream to the cleanup.
I knew everything you were saying but could not really put it into words as eloquently as you did. Great stuff!
What we need to always remember about the Marxists regime in power is that everything, no matter how important to the country,is political.
These Marxists have the ability to consider only the political side of any crisis. They spin it to their benefit always and never ever concentrate on solving problems(not that they have any experience in doing so anyway) unless they can get some benefit from it.
Which is barely acknowledged nowadays... a telling indicator of the decadence, dishonor, dishonesty, and thus decline of our nation and its people.
For those who remember and still value honor, there was also another important anniversary this weekend. June 4, 1942, the 68th anniversary of the Battle of Midway, which was equally as important as D-Day.
I believe you will appreciate the discussion, and the incredibly moving, long-forgotten John Ford memorial video to the heroes of that day which can be found in this Belmont Club thread:
“Right now that gusher on the bottom is a symbol of a presidency out of control and fouling everything it touches.”
Well said.
Tony Blair in discussion with Fareed Zakeria, spoke of “Palestine” four or five times. I guess that is becoming an official word now.
“I just got back from Palestine...”
“people of Palestine...”
“when I was in Palestine...”
We always respected his precision with rhetoric, so this is no slip of the tongue.
Arianna's that rare breed of woman who turn men into homosexuals.
Sunday shows really are boring, aren’t they? A good discussion on Fox or Fox and Friends is way more interesting.
And without Rush to comment tomorrow???
Hope he’s enjoying the honeymoon.
The shows aren’t going to invite them, Fishtalk. It is the producers of that show who control who goes on. GOP can ask all day to be on TV, but anyone like Sessions or Inhofe doesn’t ever get asked. I am sure next week we will see Linseed again, since he’s a favorite of theirs.
They spoiled two or more weeks of revenue in coastal resorts by panicking. The oil is only today beginning to reach the beaches.
Hahahahhaa,good one,true as well!
Tell me about it, they haven’t done us any favors down here either.
The libs can’t handle the truth.
They don’t want to face reality about the need for oil for several decades.
But, somehow, you don’t notice them giving up anything. Maybe a few loonies are driving some little golf cart things and scorning plastic bags, but really ....
