Journalism can reinvent itself without government 'help'
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is seeking ways to "reinvent" journalism, and that's a cause for concern. According to a May 28 draft proposal, the agency thinks government should be at the center of a media overhaul. The bureaucracy sees it as a problem that the Internet has introduced a wealth of information options to consumers, forcing media companies to adapt and experiment to meet changing market needs. FTC's policy staff fears this new reality.
"There are reasons for concern that experimentation may not produce a robust and sustainable business model for commercial journalism," the report states. With no faith that the market will work things out for the better, government thinks it must come to the rescue.

These people really are trying to create a civil war. They're insane. They are at war with America now. Most just fail to recognize it.

A character in an Ayn Rand novel. She was weird, but a lot of people like her work. What she was not, was a true Americanist. She didn’t follow the founding fathers blueprint for America. She was an atheist, nihilist who happened to be an anti-Marxist reactionary. She was a distraction and diversion — way overrated.

But, the Supreme Court never ventured into the issues of redistribution of wealth, and of more basic issues such as political and economic justice in society. To that extent, as radical as I think people try to characterize the Warren Court, it wasnt that radical. It didnt break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the founding fathers in the Constitution, at least as its been interpreted and Warren Court interpreted in the same way, that generally the Constitution is a charter of negative liberties. Candidate Obama, 2001 interview The fact that that one statement alone didn't send a chill up enough people's spines explains why we are in the mess that we are in. And that is no Johnny Come Lately on the scene (as I'm sure that you know), I heard the audio clip played often, before the election.
Big problem is 3-part:
1. Not enough people make an effort to put themselves in a position to hear/read things like that.
2. Not enough people that may have read/heard it, understand what he is saying.
3. Not enough people that may not understand it, give a rat's patootie that they don't!
With a deliberately dumbed down populace so manipulated into thinking that things like how many votes their fav on American Idol may get, or who might be the winner of Celebrity Apprentice this year, are far more important and interesting to them, it is a wonder that our Country hasn't been destroyed decades ago.

They are not trying to ‘reinvent’ journalism, they are trying to keep it the way it was before the age of the Internet. It would be as if the blacksmiths and stable owners gotten together at the turn of the last century to propose a ‘Ford Tax’ to eliminate the competition

So
"Congress shall make no law ..." doesn't apply to the FTC? I don't think so. They have no independent taxing authority and an EO can only apply to the Executive Branch, no? "They" might have no faith in the free market but that's not on the list of choices from which they can choose.
This is getting dangerously close to "When in the Course of human events" time.

I can see the author has a problem right there. It’s like looking for self-respecting prostitutes.

I don't think they are insane. America voted for TRANSFORMATION WITHOUT AMENDING THE CONSTITUTION. The boy king is delivering and I fear he can win again in 2012. Stick a fork in America, unless the GOP can retake Congress in 2010 and defund all this TRANSFORMATION.

ON THE FREEDOM OF THE PRESS Benjamin Franklin While free from Force the Press remains, Virtue and Freedom chear our Plains, And Learning Largesses bestows, And keeps unlicens’d open House. We to the Nation’s publick Mart Our Works of Wit, and Schemes of Art, And philosophic Goods, this Way, Like Water carriage, cheap convey. This Tree which Knowledge so affords, Inquisitors with flaming swords From Lay-Approach with Zeal defend, Lest their own Paradise should end. The Press from her fecundous Womb Brought forth the Arts of Greece and Rome; Her offspring, skill’d in Logic War, Truth’s Banner wav’d in open Air; The Monster Superstition fled, And hid in Shades in Gorgon Head; And awless Pow’r, the long kept Field, By Reason quell’d, was forc’d to yield. under obamanation world order, people don’t decide which newspapers/magazines they want to buy and which they don’t. obamanation will force the sleeze to be “in your face” by using our tax dollars to fund it... much like using our money for sex “education” with accompanying condoms; abortion murders; and bowing and scraping and paying for the queer agenda. And yes, “queer” is a word. It means just that.
where does it stop?

Sounds good to me to have the Govt control news content.
International law favors such...international laws in countries like North Korea, Cuba, China and other one party dictatorships.
After all, Obama and the National Socialist Party (aka Dem’s) are working hard to establish such a dictatorship, here in the Land Of 100 Czars.

I'm afraid the above is the only way out... especially after reading "Constitutional Chaos," the first part of "Three Felonies a Day" [I'm in the middle of reading it], seeing the federal [in]action on terrorism & border security coupled with the trumped-up charges against those "Huataree Militia," and stuff like this.
