Golden Girl Rue McClanahan, 76, has died.
"She passed away at 1 a.m. this morning," her manager, Barbara Lawrence, tells PEOPLE. She had a massive stroke."
McClanahan, who played Blanche Deveraux on the still-popular '80s sitcom Golden Girls, had suffered a minor stroke earlier this year while recovering from bypass surgery. Lawrence added that at the time of her death Thursday, McClanahan had her family with her. She went in peace.

RIP Rue
Sad. She was a funny lady, had her own style of class.
R.I.P.
Still popular?
So.... is Betty White the last one left?
I just told my 23 year old daughter who is a big fan of Golden Girls and she said she probably died having sex - that’s how she would want to go. She brought a lot of laughter to us.
There’s only one Golden Girl left.
Oh yes. My daughter (23) loves to watch reruns.
Must be. Still in reruns on WE every night.
RIP Rue.
I think it runs 80 times a day on Lifetime.
It’s always a good watch at 1:00am when there is nothing else on.
RIP.
We still watch “Golden Girls” reruns occasionally.
I still watch Golden Girls re-runs, lol. RIP, Rue.
Is it *that* apparent I haven't gotten laid in a while?
RIP
Blanche: There is a fine line between having a good time and being a wanton slut. I know. My toe has been on that line.
Yes, sadly. But she’s still going strong!..............

Rue McClanahan is in yellow.
Funny show, good actress. RIP
Great character actress - she will be missed.
Of the four Golden Girls, only Betty White survives -at age 88.
They were soooooooooooooooo great. Bea, Estelle, Rue and Betty.
Although Rue was not the funniest person on the show, it was a great show which showed how important chemistry is in sitcoms.
The show was funny mostly due to the efforts of Betty White and Estelle Getty.
Bea Arthur was the third funniest. But the show would not have worked without Rue either. They were all equally important to the success of the show.
Still drawing audiences on cable/satellite channels.
Following her death they will probably have one of their "marathons" of back-to-back episodes.
