The sinkhole is a result of rainwater saturating the ground after tropical storm Agatha. The image is not a photoshop-job (see other angles of the sinkhole below) despite looking as if a giant hole had been punched in the Earth.

I was wondering similar. The BP oil leak may be manmade; we should not lose track that there Is a lot of oil down there under high pressure, the Earth’s crust is not static, and at some point a natural rupture may occur with no hope of mankind stopping it. Just a thought.

Maybe it’s all the oil gushing into the gulf — I know they say that the oil is in between the rocks and such in the ground, but one wonders - with all that oil, exactly where does this supposed 2nd largest oil deposit extend to? Could it be the Earth equalizing pressure or something???
I’ve always wondered about that - although I know it’s a ‘theory’ not grounded in science... Just my mind’s wanderings! LOL

Now that Obama turned BP’s hole into a crime scene, assuming control and prompting BP to suspend all efforts, we’ll know if that hole is connected if it turns into a gusher of lubricating oil and golf balls come high tide ~ fitting for The Most Slippery President Ever.

Your post intrigued me. I looked at the globe on Google earth. I guessed that if you drilled through Guatamala, you would end up in the middle of the Indian Ocean between Africa and Australia.

Oh. Oops. What kind of a turn would the sinkhole have to take to get to China? I really want to go to China.
The only way that the United States can get to China is through a catastrophic sinkhole. Uh... Oh heck.
Wish it were Photoshopped..they say now it’s 330 ft deep. It’s one of the scariest pictures I’ve seen in a long time.
