Not to mention the “bipartisan” party. Any American who still believes in a Constitutional and capitalist America and is still sending money to the GOP is beyond stupid.

My prediction on this one is a 68-32 vote for confirmation. GOPers just simply won’t filibuster a nomination.

Here’s my prediction of who on the GOP side will side with EVERY SINGLE DEM and vote to confirm:
1. McCain
2. Graham
3. Hatch
4. Brown
5. Collins
6. Snowe
7. Cornyn
8. Alexander
9. Voinovich

. . . .
8. Alexander”
I'll be very surprised if you are not correct about pantywaist Lamar Alexander. When I e-mailed to him, urging him to vote against confirmation of Sotomayor (the Wide Latina), he e-mailed back his canned response that Senators should give great deference to the SC nominations of a President and should not oppose them merely on the basis of differing political philosophies.
Alexander's natural stance in dealing with liberals is a prostrate position.

There are a number of things that reflect badly on Kagan, but nothing overwhelmingly against her has surfaced. That doesn’t mean that it isn’t there.

What do you expect - Saudi money at work!
Also - as an aside, we don't have to worry about any pesky US oil independence after this “accident” in the Gulf - do we? The United Arab Emirates are safe...

didn't this board cheer the election of Scott Brown? Somehow I remember someone saying this was going to be another RINO and got lampooned that I shouldn't be undermining the monumental acheivement of the RNC taking the Teddy-Seat. But that's just it. It was the RNC (not conservatism) taking the Teddy-Seat. Until conservatives learn how to effectively campaign in blue states, this is what they're going to be stuck with in WA (Rossi), IL (Kirk), DE (Castle), CA (Campbell/Fiorina), IN (Coats), MA (Brown), etc. And let's be clear that being a conservative is simply not enough (sorry Chuck, eastern WA guy, etc). If you can't effectively communicate it, you're useless.

These people will be out of office or corked off but this travesty of a SC Justice will still be squatting on the high bench laying turds of wisdom on the rest of us. Great legacy you RINO cretins.

Honest questions:
What would be the advantage in voting against?
To let the Administration put forth an even more liberal choice? To make the GOP appear to be obstructionists?
