Dispatches from the small group of reporters that always travel with the president referred to as pool reports are usually pretty mundane affairs: Air Force One landed at such and such a time, POTUS (president of the United States) motorcaded to such and such spot, POTUS did this, POTUS did that.
But Saturday evening in Chicago, as the pool of roughly seven or eight reporters waited for President Obama while he and his family attended a backyard barbecue at a friends house, they were surrounded by nearly two-dozen members of the Nation of Islams security services.
Heres how it went down, based on pool reports from the New York Times Jackie Calmes. Pool reports are sent out to the entire White House press corps, as well as other reporters who ask to receive them.
At 4:10 p.m., the reporters in the pool were positioned at the corner of Greenwood Avenue and East 50th Street and watched as the president, first lady Michelle Obama, their daughters Malia and Sasha, and the first ladys mother and brother and his wife walked up the street to the home of Marty Nesbitt.
The pool was then moved, in vans as part of a motorcade, to Woodlawn and 49th, where they waited for several hours. It turns out, they were right in front of the home of Louis Farrakhan, the current leader of the Nation of Islam.
As the handful of reporters stood on the sidewalk outside the vans passing time, a man came out of Farrakhans mansion and asked them to keep their feet off the grass, though as Calmes report notes, the only grass their feet had touched was city curbside property.

Think MK-Ultra for the 21st century.
So Obama, Calypso Louie, Bill Ayers and his bomber wife are the type of neighbors you like associating with.
It is not the pricey neighborhood. But the denizens that make it a cesspool.
There two obvious suspects, both of them Chicago-land crap weasels.
Might I just take this opportunity to inform any in the press who might chance upon this thread, I suggest you are overly impressed with "Chicago" politics. Only chickens brag about their style of criminality.
Someone thought this was a really funny idea, a joke to play on two predictable groups of people, and it's just as likely these two suspects had a great laugh at their skill with practical jokes and quickly forgot about it, and them.
This is what the suspects think of Calypso Louis and this is what they think of the Press Corp.
Oh, and this is also what they think of certain of the Pride of the Treasury Department.
So you knew all along this nest of anti-American subversives were living in your neighborhood and thought nothing of it. Was the “status” of living in that neighboorhood more important to you than making a statement by moving out.
I didnt notice any crosses but a lot of islam ...
Or perhaps BHO knows that something bad is going to happen in washington and got out of town.
sorry, I am just so cynical.
mulatto
The word mulatto is derived from the Arabic muwallad, which originally referred to persons who were not genuine Arabs, especially individuals born of black-white misalliances. With the beginning of the transatlantic African slave trade in the fifteenth century, the word mulatto first found its way into Portuguese, and then into almost all European languages, as the term for offspring of mixed European (Caucasian) and African (Negroid) parentage. (Only Afrikaans used the word Bastard for such persons.)
THAT was my very first thought when I heard that he was spending Memorial Day in Chi-town. It was announced so very late, that I wondered what other D.C. elites may have left for the holidays because of terror concerns.
Our missallianced pres__ent !
I think you all have missed something else with why BHO is in Chicago this weekend. Blago’s trial is starting on Thursday, and remember who he wanted to testify for him. Maybe BHO needed to do some behind-the-scenes work here. Our former governor’s radio program was a corker yesterday, and this trial should be very interesting.
