AP news break via ABC News Radio that the top kill plug has failed and has not worked. Link to follow...
So why didn’t our guys do this?
I seem to recall hearing that a Mexican rig on the south side of the Gulf blew out some years ago. Of course, that crisis was on a smaller scale than the seven years (estimated by BP?) for this well to subside on its own. However, the ocean pretty much solved the Mexican leak on its own, just as it does on other ocean seepages. Further, BP is doing all it can to minimize its losses and recover as much oil as possible. Shouldn’t our efforts simply concentrate on containment of the present slick rather than “plug the #@%& hole” in the immortal words of the man “in charge since Day One?”
The oil is obviously a racist Tea Party member in bed with BP and Cheney.
Don't piss me off. I'm as black as Obama, but I don't get an ounce of slack from any quarter.
'Course, it might have something to do with the fact that I'm a conservative. I'm a "traitor", you know.
THANK YOU! I WISH this was down loadable!
Are you punch drunk?
God bless you. It doesn’t matter what your skin color is or what your culture is. They say that if you aren’t a democrat in your 20’s you have no heart. If you aren’t conservative by the time you are thirty you are stupid or corrupt.
It has nothing to do with skin color, its about common sense. Take money from business, and they can’t hire as many people. Simple.
When Government takes that money and gives it to other businesses to make ZYX, and it lowers ARTIFICIALLY the price that ZYX product can be sold for, and kills other businesses that are already IN the market, but can’t now compete with the government subsidized industry. Meanwhile, more jobs are lost than created, and those newer jobs PAY LESS.
Its NOT rocket science, and it isn’t racism. In fact, I am of the opinion that the only racism left in American on an institutional level is practiced by those who scream about it every day. Race isn’t really involved, but they have found that if they scream that false accusation, they can guilt trip people into what ever it is they want to get out of them.
Racism is ultimately about using race as a means to an end. You know a racist by whether or not he/she is USING RACE as a means of getting something. Most people don’t care about race, they care about whether or not you can do the job competently or not.
Am I right about all this, heck if I know, this is just the observations of a white woman who was raised in a society in Hawaii as a little girl that discriminated against white people. Haole isn’t a nice term at all. It equates to the N-word. I understand racism from the perspective of the person it was practiced against.
Thanks for the heartfelt post, Danae. I’m hip to all that you said.
Racism is a terrible human aberration, and thankfully, I haven’t had to deal with all that much of it in this life.
My real complaint was about what the poster said about Obama being able to do what he wants, “because he’s black.” That’s the flip side of racism, which is almost worse than the disease itself.
As you said, we conservatives tend to rate people on their performance in life, not their race, or their cultural origin, as libs do. I operate that way myself, and have no issue with others applying the same standard to me.
Thanks for all you said.
We real thinkers have to stick together. Its what you have between the ears and how you funnel that through your heart and create as real in the world that matters.
There is a book I just loved when I first read it as an adult mind you, never read it as a kid. “The Little Prince” “It is with that heart that one can see rightly, what is essential is invisible to the eye” That applies to the mind as much as the heart, and as bad a rap as we get from liberals, we know we aren’t what they label us as in their fear. What’s more, there are more of ‘us’ than there is of ‘them’.
All it takes is waking a few people up at a time to whats been going on and real American History, not what they have been taught. This is the real power of the Tea Party, its a huge movement that is learning all the American History that HAS NOT BEEN TAUGHT IN 2 to 4 GENERATIONS in some places!!! Its gotten to be bigger than just Democrat vs Republican. Its the Government class (this includes those dependent on government be it in subsidies, welfare, jobs, elected officials and the merchant class (businesses) tied in with government like Fannie Mae and Freddie Mack) vs. the Citizen class. Its the Citizens who pay for the Government class, and the citizens have had it up to hear. Its surpassed party lines, just look at the Makeup of the Tea Party! It may be 60% Republicans, but that other 40% is made up of Democrats and Independents.
That scares leftists to death. It means their ultimate demise, because they are solidly outnumbered. So they scream racism as a last resort. Stupid is as stupid does.
And in the case of a nuke, contaminate the product with isotopic cesium for the next 75,000 years.
I invite your attention to post #251 above, which is particularly helpful and also recalls the same Mexican blowout you do.
Ixtoc was a much larger reservoir than "Macondo". It was one of the principal fields in the fabulous Cantarell complex that was the core of Mexican production and exports for 30 years. There were some eight or ten of these big fields, which however are in much shallower water than "Macondo".
Its surpassed party lines, just look at the Makeup of the Tea Party! It may be 60% Republicans, but that other 40% is made up of Democrats and Independents.
And that 40% blows me away. It means that the good hats are winning, and that America will ultimately prevail against the infiltration of leftist traitors into our government.
That scares leftists to death. It means their ultimate demise, because they are solidly outnumbered.
And they've always been outnumbered by patriotic, conservative Americans. We've just never stood up and fought back, like we're doing now.
Eventually, all Americans will thank Precedent Obama for waking us up in time to save our great country. Sad to say, but we needed a threat as dire as he is to break us out of our long slumber.
“Almost every engineer, in almost all disciplines of engineering, can tell you all about what it is like to tell management Uh, thats not such a wise idea, only to be ignored. Repeatedly.”
This is SO damn true.
This is why I work on my own most of the time via contracts. When the idiots screw things up, I get paid more. If they want to blame me for their problems, fine, I find work elsewhere. Fortunately, I found steady work that is hybrid research/development/panic-mode “get it done yesterday” projects :-)! It’s like the best of all worlds and I haven’t been happier with my career to date (I have to admit I like the pressure of getting something done fast that is both high quality and, well, cool :-) ).
It took a ton of hard work and life lessons to get there though. I honestly cannot see why most engineering companies are not small/mid sized ... it seems the larger they are, the more detached management becomes from understanding what it takes to develop working solutions. Of course, these managers usually label the more vocal engineers “primadonnas”, but I usually wear that as a badge of honor when it comes from one of those buffoons. Now if someone I respected called me that, I would question myself immediately :-)!
I spent the summers of 2002 and 2003 mopping up various forms of garbage due to poor managerial decisions. While I got a TON of valuable experience from that, I question if it was worth burning myself out for a little over a year. In the end, at least a few people I know got to keep their jobs for a while ... but man that was one insane year working 24/7.
The sickening VP of Engineering took a lot of credit for our hard work ... the moron was the one who made the wrong decisions in the first place. Virtually all of us moved on to another company shortly after that fiasco. Mr. VP got canned about a year after that. What’s good for engineering in general is that I hear he is still unemployed and really wasn’t the sharpest knife in the drawer ... he’s the kind of fool that could convert a golden parachute into corroded tin in no time.
I agree. It may come down to the O having to ask his friend putie to use their nuke technique. Now that would be interesting.
And we certainly won’t be seeing any of those commercials that ran a year or so ago that featured the Deepwater Horizon as an example of environmentally conscious deepwater drilling technology.
The press has been practicing it's own form of affirmative action for as long as I can remember. Here is how you will know what I am talking about, start watching news reports of horrific murders, if the race of the perp is not mentioned or a picture of them is not shown 90% of the time they will turn out of be black (especially if the victims were white)
They are doing the exact same thing now with Islam, the press will purposely omit for the story the fact that the perpetrator is Muslim.
These things are as predictable as economic stories since Obama took office where bad numbers are always “unexpected”.
Oh dear, I don’t remember that commercial. I hope they come up with a solution soon and it’s odd that they didn’t have a working one for deepwater drilling.
This, of course, being the “Top Kill” that 0bama says he directed, approved and coordinated. Yet another failure for Boy Zer0.
They should try pumping in Barbie Dolls to plug the leak. They work like a charm to plug up a toilet.
This can’t be correct.
Didn’t Lord 0haha tell us in his news conference that this worked, and then he went to Chicago to play gangster basketball to honor those who died in our military protecting this country.
Or was that after his $17,600 per seat dinner at the elite massing to fund Barbara Boxer in Gay Frisco?
