There's no doubt Rand Paul is 10X better than RAT Jack Conway and every freeper should support him in the general election.

That being said, threads like these (including the one the other day where Ron Paul voted to let gay activists openly serve in the military) hammer home the point that his dad Ron Paul is NOT a Reagan Republican and "true conservative"

I don't expect Rand Paul to be a clone of his dad in his voting record, but he'll be close enough that the tea parties activists whooping it up over "true conservative" Rand Paul beating a "Clintonite" in the primary will have buyer's remorse after a few months of Rand Paul in the Senate. He simply wasn't the "most conservative" candidate in the primary when it came to social issues and security issues.

As for how "unfair" it is to point this fact out now that the primary's over, I have little doubt that about 80% of the Paulites would be sitting home and sulking rather than "getting behind" Trey Grayson if he was the nominee, so my response is Cry Me a River. The fact so many Grayson supporters are willing to support Paul in November shows they are far more tolerant than the Paulites demanding unity. Unity is a one way street with the RON PAUL "R EVOL TION" , it's always THEIR way or the highway. Anyone who agrees with them only 99% of the time and deviates from Paul's views on a single bill is pond scum, but if Ron Paul agrees with us 75% of the time then "Reagan's 11th commandment" means we can't criticize what he does the other 25% of the time.

Perhaps if the Paul crowd stopped the smears about Mitch McConnell being RINO slime and Trey Greyson being a Democrat sleeper cell (ever notice they NEVER bash anyone else who was a Democrat in college, including Ronald Reagan himself?), then people would take their demands to "supporting fellow Republicans" seriously.

I have no idea what you're talking about.

Jim DeMint, Tom Coburn, Jeff Flake, Ron Paul -- I'm a big fan of MOST Congressmen or Senators who get a 90% or better rating from the National Taxpayers Union; it's just that Ron Paul is always amongst that honored few, year after year. I'm hoping that Rand Paul will be as well.

Normally I gravitate towards the most fiscally conservative candidate. But for this race I made an exception.
