MAHWAH, N.J. (CBS) ― Three small children were taken on the frightening ride of their young lives.
Police in New Jersey pulled over a Mahwah mother who was swerving on the road, allegedly driving drunk with a blood-alcohol level of 0.39.
The 36-year-old was arrested on DWI charges and endangering minors.
The allegations are shocking. Georgette Massi was arrested on DWI charges and endangering minors. Massi is charged with driving drunk with two of her own children in the car, ages 1 and 6, and a friend's child, age 6.
"It's scary. I feel relieved right now 'cause she's getting the help she needs and the kids are safe," said Frank Massi, the accused's husband.
Massi's husband told CBS 2 HD he believes his wife's problem stemmed from postpartum depression.
"I know she drank. I didn't know she had this sort of problem. She hid it well. When I am working I have no control," Frank Massi said.

tested out at almost 5 times the legal limit..
That’s dead
I’m surprised she’s not dead of alcohol poisoning.
I've got news for him, he has no "control" whether he's working or not over an alcoholic's behavior. That may even be part of the problem, trying to "control" his wife.
That’s pretty pickled , for sure.
If she drinks like that I’m surprised she doesn’t have 11 kids.
She holds her booze pretty well if she was actually on the road at that concentration.
Whoa, I thought they were talking BJs there for a minute.
That's a crime if you're not an illegal alien.
A lady here in town blew .60 before noon...I believe a record at the time. She stayed in the hospital for a couple of days and was fine. I believe someone had eclipsed that mark though.

“Whoa, I thought they were talking BJs there for a minute.”
Yeah, with those looks...she could have taken in 39 bucks.
I am impressed.
When I was younger and in the navy, I blew a 3.1
I was taken off flight status.
Was assigned to drive the crew bus.
Times have changed.
I know some folks from Mahwah (not the driver).
As a youth in the 80’s, I worked at our town police station, cutting grass, cleaning up, etc... nightly inhabitants of the jail were nearly all the previous nights crop of DWI’s - and of those probably 85% were men.
The men were nearly always 0.08 - 1.2% blood alchol
But the woman, few that they were, were ALWAYS very high, 0.25% or higher. Even saw one woman who was at this level - 0.36% - wondered how she survived!
In a row?!
Given the amount she drinks, she may have misplaced a few over the years.
