Senior White House advisers asked former President Bill Clinton to talk to Joe Sestak about whether he was serious about running for Senate, and to feel out whether he'd be open to other alternatives, according to sources familiar with the situation.
But the White House maintains that the Clinton-Sestak discussions were informal, according to the sources. The White House, under pressure to divulge the specifics of its interactions with Sestak, will release a formal statement later today outlining their version of events, including Clinton's involvement.
According to the sources, White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel asked Clinton and his longtime adviser, lawyer Doug Band, to talk to Sestak about the race. It's unclear right now whether the White House will say that Clinton was asked to suggest specific administration positions for Sestak, whether Clinton floated positions on his own, whether Clinton discussed other options not related to the adminstration, or whether employment even came up at all in the talks.

Clinton isn't a fall guy and didn't even break a law that I can see (unless it can be determined that he was aiding and abetting a criminal act). He was merely an agent of the administration..a go-between.
The crap about feeling out Sestak regarding his seriousness (as to running)...it doesn't take someone as important as Clinton. Anyone who knows Sestak can do that.
And the unpaid aspect of a promised job is irrelevant because any job with the president has a great deal of future value.
In the final analysis, a crime was committed or this matter would have been handled quickly when it first arose. There's no need to stonewall over an innocent exchange.

Clinton has a lot of power now, because whatever he says regarding this could save or sink Hussein. Dumb move by Hussein — depending on the loyalty of a snake.
That would explain the private lunch the other day. Getting a guy that finds easier to lie than him isn’t hard with the demons. So even if clinton provided the offer. It would have to come from someone in the admin.
What makes me furious is that the big fat liar is representing the “o”ther big fat liar we are expected to believe the story. I know the elites are out of touch with Americans but I didn't think they thought we were lunatics as well.
This just keeps getting better and better.

Rahm Emmanuel was consigliere of Clinton’s mafia, and he’s in this up to his eyeballs. I expect that’s the real reason he’s in Israel. Get him out of town...

Sestak just released statement going along with excuse of White House...
throw an ex-president under the bus.
It just shows how much arrogance white white house has and how much they deny responsibility.
This came from obama, no one else could have given the go a head for the kind of position being offered.
Now even if Clinton did do this then who asked Clinton to see Sestak and on what authority.
There should be an investigation into this and not just take the word of bozo.
They are ALL in...they will stop at nothing. The only reason they have no fear is because people are not responding as such.
Someone from the white house would have asked Clinton and the only person who would have had that authority to let Clinton ask this would be obama.

It did come from someone in the administration. Here is the lead paragraph from the Yahoo news story:
At the request of President Obama's chief of staff, former President Bill Clinton asked Joe Sestak if he would drop out of Pennsylvania's Democratic Senate primary if given a prominent but unpaid advisory position within the administration.
So at minimum, the White House is admitting that Rahm Emmanuel was involved. They aren't admitting that Obama was directly involved, but Emmanuel would not have done that without his boss' ok.
Collusion.
