Senior White House advisers asked former President Bill Clinton to talk to Joe Sestak about whether he was serious about running for Senate, and to feel out whether he'd be open to other alternatives, according to sources familiar with the situation.
But the White House maintains that the Clinton-Sestak discussions were informal, according to the sources. The White House, under pressure to divulge the specifics of its interactions with Sestak, will release a formal statement later today outlining their version of events, including Clinton's involvement.
According to the sources, White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel asked Clinton and his longtime adviser, lawyer Doug Band, to talk to Sestak about the race. It's unclear right now whether the White House will say that Clinton was asked to suggest specific administration positions for Sestak, whether Clinton floated positions on his own, whether Clinton discussed other options not related to the adminstration, or whether employment even came up at all in the talks.

Rose, m’dear..you’re waaay off here. Clintons will do things for other Dems, but ONLY if it benefits themselves first, above all...and I can’t see what’s in it for them..I hate to use the words “dignity” and “Slick” in the same sentence..but it doesn’t make sense...OTOH..there’s one possible scenario where I can see Bubba gettign involved. A WH political operative, mid-level..made the offer to Sestak, but Joe didn’t believe it..since the WH was doing everything possible to get Arlen re-elected. So someone, Zero?, Rahm? asked Slick to let Sestak know that it was a bona die, 100% guaranteed offer..since Sestak is a Clintonista..he’d believe it coming from Bubba. Bubba would protect him, and more importantly...now the WH owes the Clintons a big favor..
Interesting. Speaking of NY, they also meddled in Gov. Patterson’s decision to run.
does a double impeachment make the impeachment go away?
Of course they are covering up their attempt to divert Sestak’s quest for that seat as their actions were blatantly illegal. The Leftists don’t care as they know they can lie their way out of anything, ‘cause they always do.
I see this going nowhere but into the grief file as these two, Obama, and Bill Clinton are a couple of the best liars around. They’ll make certain there isn’t sufficient concrete evidence without some questionable excuse attached to it to make a case against them stick.
They, the Leftists such as these two don’t care one whit as to whether they are perceived as liars or not. It’s all part of the game to them. They always get away with it, or lesser punishment, and their minions, sycophants are always thrilled, and delighted by their skill.
Yeahhhhh, that's the ticket!
Soooooooooooooooooooooo....Sestak is INDEPENDENTLY WEALTHY and need not be paid for a full time job?
Uh uh
I don't think it will do much for Hillary's future presidential plans, though.
“On Sept. 27, 2009, the Denver Post reported that the Obama administration offered Senate candidate Romanoff a position if he canceled plans to run for the Democratic nomination against incumbent Sen. Michael Bennet.”
So, just out of curiosity, was Clinton the go between on the Romanoff/Colorado deal as well -— or would he now be willing to say he did that one, too???
Is it possible to impeach Clinton TWICE?
What a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive.
Since Sestak did not disclose what type of job he has a pretty good out for himself, right? Clintoon will say non paid job and now all they need is for Sestak to agree that was all that was offered. That is what they will claim correct?
This doesn’t pass the smell test.
The Admiral has no integrity. Very sad when you think about it.
Indeed
That is why you better be buying guns...
” This doesnt pass the smell test. “
It doesn’t pass ANY kind of test.
Looks like it.
The WH will campaign for Sestak, and owes the Clintons BIG TIME, IMO.
This stuff has Chicago Mafia written big all over it. I’m sure their mouthpieces will take care of the piddly little legal details, but I can’t see something this big being ignored by the MSM or just shrugged off. Gonna be a long, hot summer for The One.
They could prove to be more of a liability. On the bright side, think of the commercials Toomey could run.
I don’t think the law cares whether it was a “paid” job or “unpaid” advisory role, it was an offer for a position to drop out of the race.
