That would explain the private lunch the other day. Getting a guy that finds easier to lie than him isn’t hard with the demons. So even if clinton provided the offer. It would have to come from someone in the admin.

It did come from someone in the administration. Here is the lead paragraph from the Yahoo news story:

At the request of President Obama's chief of staff, former President Bill Clinton asked Joe Sestak if he would drop out of Pennsylvania's Democratic Senate primary if given a prominent but unpaid advisory position within the administration.

So at minimum, the White House is admitting that Rahm Emmanuel was involved. They aren't admitting that Obama was directly involved, but Emmanuel would not have done that without his boss' ok.
