At the risk of being a Killjoy...I keep hearing that the leak has been plugged and all is looking up....but everytime go to the live feed, it looks like a volcano. How can the pressure be near zero and look like it does??!!

Could it be that they are trying to plug the leak in Obama's credibility instead.
Someone educate me if I am wrong.

That volcano you see is mud not oil. The pressure that’s near zero is of oil not mud.

There’s always that...eventually, though, reality bites.

They’re pumping mud down into the well at such high pressure that there is a significant risk of causing a secondary explosion that will be worse than the first. That’s the very reason they’ve held off on using this method of “plugging the damn hole.”

Part of the problem is they’ve put down huge amounts of mud...much of which is leaking out. It’s got a lot of leakage...and may not get enough mud down there to do what is needful, or so the technical guys are saying...

I think the most sure way we will know is when the President makes an announcement that he thought of the top kill method.

What about harvesting the oil? They’re not even considering that option (If it’s still an option)?

The oil is no longer leaking. What you see is the stuff they put down there to stop up the hole. (stop what you’re thinking) LOL
An expert says it’s a good thing that you can see it coming out of there because it means that the pipe down to the hole is not stopped up. He said eventually enough of that material will accumulate and there will be no more oil at all. It will be stopped up. Or killed, as they say.

Well, I am waiting to see what happens to the break 300 feet below at the joined or rather, formerly joined pipes.

I think this is closer to reality than anything I've read today. I keep hearing/reading that the topkill is working, and that it is only mud coming from the fissures in the live feed. However, I simply don't believe it yet. My summary of all things read and seen today, is that they are still trying to push drilling mud down the tube, but the success is still quite doubtful.

It’s 0bama’s leak now. He took ownership of it today.
Only after the leak was plugged.

Somebody will have to drill another well when they are permitted to. The oil is still there.

Grabbing it from where? The well? The water? The leaking pipes?
