What about harvesting the oil? They’re not even considering that option (If it’s still an option)?

Somebody will have to drill another well when they are permitted to. The oil is still there.

They can not harvest the oil. That is what the dome was supposed to do, act like a reverse funnel and pump the oil to a drilling ship, I believe. But the gas froze and crystalized, which clogged the flow.

If they could harvest it, they would. On top of all the fines they will pay, they will also be taxed on the oil that leaked as if it were produced.
