Very, very serious warning. (received in email this AM)

>>While you were watching the oil spill, and other critical crises, Hillary Clinton signed the small arms treaty with the UN.

OBAMA FINDS LEGAL WAY AROUND THE 2ND AMENDMENT AND USES IT. IF THIS PASSES, THERE COULD BE WAR

On Wednesday Obama Took the First Major Step in a Plan to Ban All Firearms in the United States

The Obama administration intends to force gun control and a complete ban on all weapons for US citizens through the signing of international treaties with foreign nations.

Once the US Government signs these international treaties, all US citizens will be subject to those gun laws created by foreign governments.

The laws are designed and intended to lead to the complete ban and confiscation of all firearms.

Obama can appear before the public and tell them that he does not intend to pursue any legislation that will lead to new gun control laws, while his Secretary of State, cloaked in secrecy is committing the US to international treaties and foreign gun control laws.

We will wake up one morning and find that the United States has signed a treaty that prohibits firearm and ammunition manufacturers from selling to the public.

We will wake up another morning and find that the US has signed a treaty that prohibits any transfer of firearm ownership. And then, we will wake up yet another morning and find that the US has signed a treaty that requires US citizens to deliver any firearm they own to the local government collection and destruction center or face imprisonment.

THIS IS NOT A JOKE OR A FALSE WARNING.

As sure as government health care will be forced on us by the Obama administration through whatever means necessary, so will gun control.

>> While you were watching the oil spill, and other critical crises, Hillary Clinton signed the small arms treaty with the UN.

Nonsense.

(1) Hillary Clinton doesn’t have the authority to sign a treaty, and ...
(2) ... even if she did, treaties have to be ratified to be enforced. Good luck with that. Even in this ridiculously liberal Senate, there aren’t CLOSE to 67 votes to ratify the banning of firearms.

Don’t believe every chain letter you get by e-mail.

I guess I'd better order a couple of thousand more rounds. Maybe 2000 of 5.56 and 500 of .45 ACP.

Just hope my knees are all fixed up before the SHTF.

The premise on which this is based is not bogus.
The UN small arms treaty effectively bans private ownership of firearms,

and if ratified, becomes a part of the Constitution.

Then, it will be up to the courts to decide whether the treaty supercedes the 2nd amendment or the other way around.

Trust the courts?

Thank you for bringing this to the attention of others that are unfamiliar with our Constitution and our acknowledged rights therefrom.

Here is my opinion on all things FED GOV today:

Federal law states that illegal immigration is illegal yet Obama refuses to enforce it.

We have terrorists trying to attack us and Obama does not care.

There is an oil spill going on and Obama is absent.

A guy by the name of Sestak was illegally bribed with a cushy FED GOV job to give up his run against Specter and Obama’s minions have declared that nothing inappropriate happened.

Obama and Hillary ignore Netanyahu but cozy up to Putin.

North Korea sinks a South Korean ship and crickets.....

Arizona tries to save their State and Obama’s Holder declares their law unconstitutional BEFORE he reads it.

Voter Intimidation was committed by the New Black Panther Party and Obama’s Holder drops the case.......and from tomorrow through May 31 (over Memorial Day Weekend), the New Black Panther Party will be hosting a National Black Power Convention. Can just imagine what would happen if the KKK decided to hold a National White Power Convention during Black History month.

And with all of the above said, the REAL ENEMY of this Administration are Americans who believe in BORDERS, SOVEREIGNTY, and INDIVIDUALISM!

I don't believe your #3 is correct, in so far as action by the States is concerned. While a treaty cannot amend or overide the Federal Constitution, it can and they have overidden state laws and state constitutional provisions.

This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby, any Thing in the (Constitution or Laws) of any State to the Contrary notwithstanding.
Art. IV clause 2, Constitution for the United States.
(Parentheses added for clarity)

It seems every one of these chain emails is forwarded to me from those who are older than fifty...I always thought that wisdom comes with age; maybe seasoned citizens are just more susceptible to chain email with puppies, sparkly gifs and American flags on them.

He can sign all he wants, but unless he gets a 2/3rds vote of Congress, there is no treaty that is binding IMO.

Treaties must be ratified. It takes 67 votes to ratify a treaty in the Senate. 67 Senators, whether Dem or Pub, will not ratify to confiscate United States citizens’ guns under the United Nations.

First of all, the treaty would not actually say that, they are idiots, but not that dumb.

Secondly this administration would take almost any treaty or statutory language and "interpret" it to allow them to do whatever it is they want to do. They've already done that in other areas. No reason why they wouldn't do it again. (They couldn't get cap and tax through soon enough, so they just declared carbon dioxide to be a pollutant and gave EPA authority to regulate it. No nasty old sausage making required. Stroke of the pen, law of the land.

The man, and I use the term loosely, is already in violation of the Constitution, since the day he took, or didn't take as the case may be, the oath of office.

The Senate has to ratify all treaties — by a two-thirds vote, unless I’ve slipped a cog

Correct, with the privisio that it's 2/3 of the Senators present, not 2/3 of all Senators, leaving some manuever room for the Rats. Suprise vote at O Dark Thiry, only Dems and RINOS (to make it Bi-partisan) present).

They would need more than 8 RINOS...because quite a few Dem Senators would not vote for such a treaty.

Doesn’t matter what they pass. We keep our guns, and defend ourselves violently from anyone who claims they have signed a tteaty that takes them away.

The second amendment doesn’t GRANT us the right to firearm. It RECOGNIZES a pre-existing natural right of man to keep and bear arms.

No treaty can take that right away. Anyone who claims it does is a literal enemy who had better keep their distance. Many gun owners would never go after them, but would violently resist any move to enforce the treaty.
