Nop ...damage to shore line was avoidable if promised equipment had been sent and permits given..he could have stayed on top of the issue and saved the shoreline. instead he sent lawyers

Let me see, what do I think we will hear today from the asshat:

1. Working with our business partners we were able to come up with a plan that seems to have worked to plug the oil flow in the Gulf. We will go forward now with the knowledge of what we need to do to ensure that future drilling is done within the scope of what is not deemed risky.

2. This incident shows just how dangerous it is for companies to go about rapping the enviornment at will. I am not going to tolerate companies putting short term gains at the long term losses for the country as my predecessor did. I am suspending indefinitely the drilling of any new wells in the GOM. I ask congress to increase the tax ten fold to promote the use of alternate energy sources. I have been working constantly to bring this matter to a successful conclusion since day 1. I will provide all means of support to local governments to complete the cleanup. I am certain we have learned a lot from this incident. I I I.

I know where I would put my money were I able to find someone to take the bet.

.......The BOP must hold up til this is done.......

Do we know exactly how the BOP failed? was it unable to cut the casing and seal the hole?

If Obama’s theory is stop the leak than worry about how to clean it up on the oil spill. I wonder why he can’t adopt the same theory on immigration.
I hereby nominate this as the quote of the year!

The top side still has holes and hasn’t been sealed. If what they are saying is true then they have in effect stopped the oil coming up with greater pressue from the fluids they are injecting from the top.

Perhaps my expectations were wrong then. I was looking for the ejection to stop when the hydrostatic pressure of the fluid exceeded the well pressure. At any rate, let's hope they get a nice big concrete cork in that puppy today!

This is why zerO let the Gulf spill get out of hand, to show the damage a spill can do and so he can shut down any future drilling to push his green agenda.

Classic community organizing. Dump fuel on the fire, block the firefighters from reaching the fire, blame the landlord for the lost homes.

well no one would be drilling that far out if it were not for the eviro wacko lobby telling congress what it can and cannot do...and Sending lawyers first did nothing to help the shoreline. Also gove workers watching porno instead of inspecting off shore equipment is a big fail too.

I’m looking at that same video, have been since last night, doesn’t look like they stopped anything to me ... still ton’s of fluid (of some sort anyway..) gushing out of that thing...>>>>>>>>>>

The way I hear it that stuff is some of the drilling mud that is being jammed down the well to stanch the flow. Some mud is escaping. So not oil but mud is what you see

I too am concerned about the moaning, groaning and bitching from Jindal and others in La. Seems to be a repeat of Katrina.

Jindal should have taken control and done what was needed for La. Spread hay, sawdust, hell, gone out and stolen some booms and skimmers. The hell with EPA and permits, do what needs to be done and take the consequences later. He has a whole damn navy of privateers that would gladly have volunteered.

He, like others before him, has waited for our glorious government in Washington to come to his rescue.

There has been nothing but mud since last night. The top is still open so some of the mud escapes up and out while the rest pushes the oil and gas down. This is GREAT, however mud will keep coming out for some hours until the mud in the hole (several thousand feet needed) can hold back the formation without more mud being added.

So long as you only see mud, things are going well.

Of course Obama will claim credit. Just the fact that he’s in office makes the planet heal itself....

I pray Obama will take his own great advice, and plug his own big fat hole.

I'm far from being an expert here, you sound far more knowledgeable than I on this topic. I sure hope you're right. :-)

We are still recommending “holding your breath” for a short while longer.

What is the evidence that this is a “huge” find? The geology of this part of the Gulf is well-known and if it were that big, it would have been discovered sooner. I have heard this from several people through the days that it is as big as the fields in Saudia Arabia and that it runs from Texas to Florida. From what I have heard, it is your standard deepwater 50 to 100 million barrel oil field, which is about three days worth of supply for the US.
