BEIRUT, May 26 (KUNA) -- The Lebanese army announced on Wednesday that it launched surface-to-air missiles at Israeli fighter jets that had violated the Lebanese airspace.
A statement issued by the army directorate said that the two Israeli jets penetrated Lebanese airspace over the town of Kfar Kila in the south, heading to Shaka town.

Isreal may be gauging the air defenses of Lebanon-Hezzoballah.
It makes perfect sense to do so.
gauging their air defenses and doing the job that UNIFL is supposed to be doing - monitoring the flow of weapons to Hezbollah over the Syrian border
That’s something I doubt we’ll ever know for sure.
Israel, like it’s neighbor Lebanon, is so narrow that it’s possible to stray out of your airspace while making an over-wide turn.
If the Lebanese what their airspace respected then they need to sit on those @ssholes in Hezbollah. The writ of the Lebanese government doesn’t extend beyond the Litani river.
Present!
God also knows what the US will do.
I also have the distinct feeling that many events of this past decade have been intentionally orchestrated to simply desensitize the population so that it no longer reacts in shock or in fury or in outrage, or ANY reaction at all, ... kind of like programmed "learned helplessness" on a grand scale.
For your ping list in case you haven’t seen it.

That whole area has been handed down from one administration to another for quite a while. Each admin just hopes it can get through it’s time and pass it on to the next.
I bet of those 3000 Germans turned over to Russia, only a handful ever saw Germany again.
Oh please, name one good reason why they should be shot at for overflying their airspace thats probably smaller than Los Angeles anyway. Especially since Lebanon frequently allows itself to be used as a missile and terrorist mission launching point.
They have clearly forgone their right not to be overflown. Not to mention,, a violation of airspace alone is not a justification to shoot. That was the Soviet argument for shooting down KAL 007.
Hell, if a Cuban fighter appeared over Florida, it wouldn’t be shot down. It would be intercepted, and challenged, yes,,, but not automatically shot at.
“Oh please, name one good reason why they should be shot at for overflying their airspace...”
Whose airspace? You did say one.
“Israel is so small Im amazed they can even fly jets without constantly being in sombody elses airspace?”
Correct.

Cool thanks, will read now and let you know later, great stuff, thanks
Little more than a fireworks show for the savages.
High tech version of shaking your fist at a plane.
FWIW, they use their old, crappy, SAMS for savage-appeasement purposes. They have real ones they are saving back.
Yes, the Germans basically knew it was a death sentence. On Wikipedia, they have all sorts of historical data on Russian prison camps, and their mortality rates by various years in the war. There is also some fascinating information about each and every single German POW camp. I stumbled across this stuff last night. Wikipedia is awesome. I’ve also enjoyed the complete summary of each and every U Boat.
