Perhaps this is boring to you, but to me it shows just one more example of how Obama feels about this country and its military and veterans - and especially those who have fought and died for the freedoms he is stripping away every single day since he was elected...

You are right in that he is disrespecting our Memorial Day tradition but in a way, it may be good that he isn’t going since I recall reading a post on FR by someone who goes there every year to honor a family member and said that last year was the first time EVER he wasn’t allowed in because BO was there. He said no other President stopped family members from entering Arlington in the past so this may be good for the family of Vets who want to honor their loved ones.

All I’m saying is that he’s going to the national cemetery in Chicago instead of Arlington. The response from people I have spoken to changes as soon as they find out he’s going to another national cemetery.
The OP never mentioned he was going to another national cemetery.
If he was not going anywhere, the story would be a bigger deal.
I guess it comes down to this. Were you disturbed when Bush went to Normandy instead of Arlington? Are the war heroes buried in Chicago less important than those in Normandy or Arlington?
