The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Monday shows that 25% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as president. Forty-three percent (43%) Strongly Disapprove, giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -18 (see trends). Following passage of health care, enthusiasm for the president among Democrats soared. Today, however, just 49% of Democrats Strongly Approve of Obama’s performance. That’s down from a high of 65%. It remains to be seen whether this is a temporary aberration or the beginning of a lasting change.

A lot of them must be people like my mother. She informed me the other day that Zero is doing a great job and all of these problems are those he inherited from Bush, and not of his own doing.

She was not interested in discussing it. I think she gets her news from t.v. That limits discussions because all she can do is parrot sound bites.

What worries me is how many people there are who are completely oblivious to what is going on. They don’t care. They work, they watch t.v. and believe what they hear on the news, they sleep, and then they get up and do it again.

So true and yet we see here at FR the nauseating bilge of the MSM on a deathwatch. The masses still watch & listen to the MSM and get their order from the MSM. They are alive and thriving.

“Below about 20% he’s going to be losing his hard-core left-wing base. Let it happen sooner rather than later!”

He’s openly BRAGGING about killing terrorists. He insinuated that he killed more terrorists than BUSH! That can’t thrill his peacenik base. They didn’t like it when we merely fed & watered them in club Gitmo.

Wake up, Americans! It should be MUCH. much lower approval ratings but....

Have you ever talked to Democrats? Some of them are so dumb it is depressing. They think they have the mind of Aristotle or Einstein and the total amount of knowledge in their drug-eaten mind is the thimbleful of “Gee, man, that game was really cool, so and so racked up 20 points.” or if female, “That Jesse James is hot!”

They know nothing of N. Korea, nothing about the Booming, nothing about Kagan, nothing about anything that will affect their future choices and the freedoms of their children. (Make that slavery instead of freedom) Sick, empty, stupid souls.

I know too many people like that too. As someone posted, people vote according to their personal experiences. If the economy and unemployment stay the same or worsen, he will be another Carter one-termer. But as my dh says, it doesn’t matter. He and his puppet masters will have gotten their hands on that big pot of money in just four years. Barry will retire to Hawaii a rich man.

Who the hell is the 44%?

Liberal drones. They don't have independent thought patterns; they are part of a collective consciousness. To speak to one of them is to speak to all of them.

So the 44% are in a sense one entity. The good news is that many people have severed themselves from the collective; hopefully, more to follow.

I know people who work for the federal govt who detest the current regime.

Of course, they work in legitimate jobs, not bureaucrats.

I gave up trying to have a discussion with liberals on facebook. They have only a couple of tactics; non sequitors as in, ‘you’d think it was ok if a conservative did it.’

They ignore your point and make some totally unrelated argument, such as how we abused in Indians. Indians, for gosh sake. I’m expecting the Crusades to come up any minute.

And their last ploy is to simply dismiss you by saying something like, ‘well, you just don’t feel the same way I do about helping people less fortunate than yourself.’

It is absolutely no use trying to discuss stuff logically with people of a certain mindset.
And

‘well, you just don’t feel the same way I do about helping people less fortunate than yourself.’

I agree with you. These people are irrational.

I have had the following tossed my way a time or two. My response is, "I do believe that it is an individual's responsibility to help those less fortunate, not government's. I have the tax returns to prove I walk the talk. How much did you give to charity last year?" That almost always shuts them up.

Yep! I am reading the Underground History of American Education and American Progressivism.

It actually started in the late 1800’s with the Progressives from Europe who invaded our Universities, etc. and created thinkers who had clout and effected changes in the way we are educated in America authored by the likes and friends of Horace Mann and John Dewey—who were both “progressives”== mmm mmmm mmmm. Their progressive curricula created the idiot, empty, immoral, perverted minds of the Ayers in the US.

I am extremely concerned with Obama’s plans for education, specifically his plan to make tenth and eleventh grades optional. We already have a plan that allows kids to graduate early, it’s called the GED. At least students are required to meet minimal requirements under the GED.

Obama’s plan is to put marginal students directly into union apprenticeships, including firemen’s union and police unions. This would give the gang bangers and underachievers a head start in the union jobs, ahead of the higher performing white students, who prefer to get an eduction first. It would also eliminate testing for promotions. Promotions would be based purely on union seniority and the dumber apprentices would have more seniority than the ones who stayed in school. Put this together with the forced unionization of the police and fire workers into one federal union and you have a single police force across the country that the local towns and cities have no control over. They could be forced to hire the gang bangers from the cities and be forced to pay the going union wage and benefit package whether they can afford it or not.

John Dewey—when I was a kid, all we were told was that he invented that incomprehensible system for hiding library books.

Little did we know what a dangerous little creep he was.

Very encouraging: his 55% disapproval is just one off his all-time high. He had a three-day stretch in March where he was 55%, 55%, and 56% disapproval.
