Yup - that's so lame. He didn't say it "by mistake" - it was an outright lie, said because he can't help himself - he is a liar, and that's what liars do.
Konnecticut people cannot let him sweep this under the rug - we need to keep on hammering him on this.
Shall we try to schedule a few Freeps at his house for sometime this summer?
(remember "Sore-Losermnan"?)

His televised “explanation” was the most feeble and lame bunch of “misspeak” I ever heard. If the people of Connecticut elect this guy to the U.S. Senate then I say shame; shame on all their houses.

"I have firmly and clearly expressed regret and taken responsibility for my words."

News flash for all adults, "taking responsibility", in this context, means dropping out of the race, resigning as AG and fading into the background.

"I have made mistakes and I am sorry. I truly regret offending anyone, "

This sorry sack of donkey dung is only "sorry" that he got caught/exposed for the liar that he is.

His fantasy world is an outright insult for all those who did actually serve in Vietnam, and the families and friends of those who gave the supreme sacrifice.

To fabricate such BS is tantamount to treason and is disgraceful, to say the least.

Idiot, it's not about you offending anyone. It's about your concept of reality. Vain imaginations and political power are an extremely dangerous combination. When lies become truth to any individual, that person should not be granted any access at all to positions of authority in our government. It reminds me of LBJ telling the story of his grandfather dying at the Alamo. While not true, LBJ had come to believe it. And this false sense of reality played a part in his horrendous micromanagement of the Vietnam War.

With the lamestream press, is always "misstatements" and "misspoke" when it comes to 'Rat. If it's conservatives/Republicans, well, they have to be lying, they never "misspeak". These people are so transparent and such phonies, it really isn't amusing anymore.

The people of CT have to ask themselves, how many times is this bum going to "misspeak" when he represents them in the Senate? How acceptable will it be then when he makes "misstatements"? Being that they are by and large 'Rats, I'm guessing they'll be okay with it, as long as it's a 'Rat who is "misspeaking".
