"I have made mistakes and I am sorry. I truly regret offending anyone"

Idiot, it's not about you offending anyone. It's about your concept of reality. Vain imaginations and political power are an extremely dangerous combination. When lies become truth to any individual, that person should not be granted any access at all to positions of authority in our government. It reminds me of LBJ telling the story of his grandfather dying at the Alamo. While not true, LBJ had come to believe it. And this false sense of reality played a part in his horrendous micromanagement of the Vietnam War.

LBJ's official portrait. Just barely visible on his coat lapel is a Silver Star award ribbon. He wore it always. Only thing was he got it on a single, fake, lied about mission were all he did was take a passenger ride and the aircraft turned back because of mechanical issues.
