The Duchess of York is "devastated" and "regretful" after she was filmed apparently offering to sell access to her ex-husband Prince Andrew for £500,000, sources said today.

A News of the World video showed Sarah Ferguson promising to introduce an undercover reporter posing as a wealthy businessman to the Prince, who has been the UK's special representative for international trade and investment since 2001.

The Duchess who said she could 'open doors' is expected in Los Angeles later today where she is scheduled to pick up an award for her charity work.

BTW, I hate how celebrities etc get awards for charity when all they did was show up and give a speech, sometimes they are even paid to show up.

The people who actually work hard volunteering for charities never seem to get awards.

I am so sick of that “I am sorry” after being caught. That makes me want to see them thrown under the jail.

She’s just sorry she got caught.

Maybe she can sign up for another Weight Watcher’s Diet blitz?

Yes, and if you are like me, you hope you never see another award given to an air-head celebrity again. I am sick of how they fawn over each other. Gag me...

I will say there are some exceptions. Some of these people work quite hard for their charity. Right now Holly Robinson Peete is on Celebrity Apprentice. She has pretty much dedicated her life to raising funds for the charity she set up when her first born had autism.

She said she raises about $500k for the charity each year.

I respect her for that. She doesn’t just lend her name. She’s in there pitching in.

Often, the celebrities ‘donate’ to become the honorees.

A Duchess needs money too. What other skills does she have?

Actually, they’re wealthy landowners who are net givers, not recipients. They get less from the public purse than they give to it in the form of revenues from the Crown Estates which George III agreed to hand over to Parliament in return for a regular stipend when he came to the throne in 1760....

I’m guessing she has a few, if you know what I mean (wink, wink). She did bag a prince of England after all.

“which George III agreed to hand over to Parliament in return for a regular stipend”

think about that for a minute. The key parts are “agreed”, and “hand over”. Define them.

Well, I guess that settles that topic. ; )

Yikes! That’s close to a million dollars...or was recently before the exchange rate fell.I always thought that Fergie was a fox...at least when she was skinny.I wonder if she’ll wind up in one of Her Majesty’s prisons....the Tower of London, for example.

If she committed a crime prosecute her.
Otherwise it’s just a bit tawdry
