I would think this would send shock waves since this is Zero’s home state, but since he’s really not from there—I guess this will have little emotional impact in the Blight House.

Congratulations to Djou for the victory!

This, in Obama's "hometown" no less.

So give me your analysis of the results! Are you pleased? I haven’t been able to follow as I would have liked, unfortunately.

Was there a separate primary (like in PA-12) or does this mean that Hanabusa will be the Dem candidate in Nov. against Djou? If so, then I hope Case runs as an Indie and ruins it for Hanabusa and the Senators who supported her. He just might as there is real bad blood flowing in this race - worse than in the FL senate race.

GOP STEALS SEAT FROM DEMS IN HAWAII SPECIAL ELECTION.
O.K., this counteracts Critz's win in PA-12 Tuesday night. Now, let's see if this gets as much media attention as PA-12 got; especially from the pro-DemocRAT networks.

Hanabusa second. I was expecting Case.

Case was the one that Obama supported.

If I’m not mistaken, Case and Hanabusa will face off in a regular primary if neither one drops out.

Aloha West Texas Rose!

There's a report of the voting results on post # 9. Refer back to it after my comments.

It was a three way race with Djou (R) against two democrats and while Djou was ahead in the polling all along but the other minor candidates could have created a spoiler...if Djou and one of the others, Hanabusa or Case, tied. Then we'd have had a big problem (pilikia!) on our hands. Fortunately, that's moot.

Are you pleased?

I can’t see Djou keeping this seat in November, though I hope he does!

Oh, you’re disappointed aren’t you? No you don’t hope and he does and you know it. You’re not even a good troll.

WOW. Charles Djou's win gives Hawaii its first GOP member of Congress in 20 years!

Good job Capt. Djou!

Photobucket

Background from his Honolulu City Council website:

COUNCILMEMBER CHARLES K. DJOU

Councilmember Charles K. Djou currently represents the 4th Council District (Waikiki to Hawaii Kai). In the City Council, Charles serves as the Chairman of the Executive Matters and Legal Affairs Committee and is a member of the Public Infrastructure, Budget, and Public Safety and Services Committes. Charles previously served as a Representative in the Hawaii State House, where he was the Minority Floor Leader.

Raised on Oahu, Charles spent most of his life in Hawaii.  Charles graduated from Punahou School and earned both a B.A. in Political Science and a B.S. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School of Finance and Commerce, graduating magna cum laude with distinction.  Charles earned his law degree from the University of Southern California.

Outside of the City Council, Charles serves as a captain in the U.S. Army Reserve.  He teaches as an adjunct professor at the University of Hawaii - West Oahu.

That is the problem. This is great symbolism, and a big slap in the face of the 'rats, but reality is that Djou cannot win the general straight up.

Wish it was not so, but 40% is not going to get you elected. The 'rats will rally around one of the losers in the general election.

The “Diamond Head to Hawaii Kai” pretty much spells out the only area of Oahu/Hawaii with productive voters. You would be amazed how much of the rest is indolent, welfare types. Djou won because the few here that produce supported him.

Take most of the Democrat votes for Case and put them with Djou for November. There is an escalating battle within the local Dimocraps since Case ran against aKAKA and it is escalating. Obama is not favorably considered within the Case defection group and In-NO-Way just threw gasoline on that fire in this election.
