3 Army Helicopters and Two Trailers Flew over this PM
MASN - Wash Nats BB game ^ | 5/22/10 | eagles1960

Three army military helicopters flew over my home this afternoon followed by two trailers. Never saw anything like this before, heading from the NE to the South.

The announcers on the Wash Nats game from DC just said three army copters and two trailers buzzed past the baseball stadium earlier.

I'm in Baltimore on a direct path from West Point to DC and I'll bet the queer and his wife flew over.

Damn glad they didn't crash. First aid - no way in he77.

"Three army military helicopters flew over my home this afternoon followed by two trailers..."

If I remember correctly 'Flying Trailers" are one of the signs of the Apocalypse!

BTW, I left out that was Barack and his entourage buzzing the Nats game.

Well, they could have been some of these, but I seriously doubt it...

If they were Army helicopters, they weren't the President. HMX-1, a Marine squadron, carries the President. Now, HMX-1 does a lot of training besides flying the President, and they're based at Naval Station Washington, which is on the other side of the Anacostia from Nationals Park.

I am also glad they didn’t crash. There are a lot of good Marines on those helicopters.

No, the lead three were double rotor helicopters like they used for transports in Vietnam.

The a**clown Reds reliever, Dibble? Nats announcer, just said he was joking, my a**, I saw his joke. Someone got to him darn fast.

I looked for more because I’ve never seen the trailers before and we have a lot of traffic being near an AF Nat Guard base. I took special note of the traffic. Never saw this formation before. Helicopters overhead are common, usually police copters. A-10’s are in the flight pattern often. This was unusual.

Either that, or it's tornado season.

Isn’t Marine One just used for local duty like DC-Camp David or Andrews AFB?

This would be a return trip from the West Point commencement address to DC.

Could easily have been just the powder puff Generals on board. Dibble could have been mistaken but I saw the five copters and they were out of place, out of the landing pattern for the Nat Guard base. Exactly flying in the pattern Dibble described.

You're describing a CH-47D.

No, because Marine One is single-rotor.

Also describes the USMC Being Vertol CH-46, also flown by HMX-1, though I don’t believe that any CH-46s are “white-top” presidential birds.

Lemme See...

All those vehicles they use when the PRZ is on the ground--
Those fit in trailers --
And may deserve some overhead security /and-or / transport some of security personnel they use to secure the general area??

Justa thought

Looks about right, I think they were nicknamed Chinooks.

They don’t normally fly around here.

Only other military helicopter I remember was the MH-53, the Black Copters flown out of Fort Hurlburt, FL. Saw a few on the ground and the physical radar model where I worked.

I saw the C-130’s taking off in a circular altitude gaining pattern from Hurlburt to supply the night vision operations of the MH-53s’ over Eastern KY where it was dark at night, their training ground.

That’s why they get complaints about black helicopters flying over, they’re just training.

Trailers have tornado targets on them, don't they?
