Obama campaigns against Bush - again By: Carol E. Lee May 22, 2010 07:02 AM EDT

President Barack Obama is trying to ride the wave of anti-incumbency by taking on an unpopular politician steeped in the partisan ways of Washington.

It doesn’t matter that George W. Bush left office 16 months ago.

The White House’s mid-term election strategy is becoming clear – pit the Democrats of 2010 against the Republicans circa 2006, 2008 and 2009, including Bush.

It’s a lot to ask an angry, finicky electorate to sort out. And even if Obama can rightfully make the case that the economy took a turn for the worse under Bush's watch, he's already made it - in 2008 and repeatedly in 2009.

It’s not clear that voters still want to hear it.

“If you’re the leader of a large corporation and you’re in power for a year and a half and you start off a meeting with your shareholders by blaming your predecessor, that wouldn’t go over very well,” said Merle Black, a political science professor at Emory University. “This is a very weak approach. ... And I can’t imagine it having an impact on these very swing voters.”

Some Democrats would like Obama to shift his argument.

“The president needs to indict not simply Bush or even Republicans. He is a visionary thinker, and his rhetoric should reflect that,” said Democratic strategist Paul Begala. “I want President Obama to make a consistent, compelling indictment of conservative ideas.”

Yeah. Visionary. That's it. Right.

He is a visionary thinker...

riiiggghhhttt

Like closing down the space industry and the moon program - why build a space station on the moon from which rockets could be launched with near zero power far off into deep space and learn things we may well need to know - not to mention not leaving the moon to other countries to build a station that looks down our throats.

Nope, the "visionary" says, instead, we could go to an "asteroid."

The only thing he envisions is a Muslim controlled world - with himself as the head imam.

Sorry there isn't one.

Can’t let the voters remember the Democrats were in charge of Congress 2006,2008 and 2009.
Obama had a filibuster proof majority for a significant period until Brown was elected and HE wants to shift the blame?

Talk about lack of leadership.

Talk about a lack of class. The kind of class necessary to be president. Or dog catcher.

It needs to be said loudly, and repeatedly.

That's ok. We've got the democrats in charge of spending since 2006. All their spending belongs to them.

The Bush years have become known as "The good old days". Bringing up Bush is suicide for the left. People will be yearning for the Bush years to come back. If the Marxists want to make comparisons, Bush beats them hands down - no questions asked.

Visionary? Show me proof of that. Thinker? I am even less impressed. Show me what he did in college. Prove to me that everything he has done up to this point was essentially an honorary degree or award or “affirmative action”.

Tic, tic, tic.....

Looks like others choked on the “visionary thinker” part too! Paul Begala must have an unlimited supply of kneepads.

Of course Obama is going to blame Bush - Obama has never had to truly own a decision for his entire life. Until 53% of this country decided to immolate us, he had never run ANYTHING in his life. Zero. He’s never had to take ultimate responsibility and so his every instinct is to blame somebody else.

How did America ever let this commie become president?

Taxpayers fund ACORN.

ACORN selectively targets weak districts and—using voter-fraud—makes them strong for a "takeover".

I don't need to address The Electorate's collective need to "feel good" about race relations.

***The only thing he envisions is a Muslim controlled world - with himself as the head imam. ***

Misery loves company. America has taken in millions and millions of people since 1776 and made it good for them. WE HAVE IT! THEY DON’T! So being miserable, THEY can’t stand the idea of US having it.

So, all they need is one Zero whom they can promote as their leader who will distribute everything we have to him and his friends who will live in strongholds surrounded by their armed slaves.

And THEN the slaves will finally wake up.

"How did America ever let this commie become president?"

Well if you really want to know.
1. Put the worst possible candidate against him.
2. Get the MSM on your side.
3. Blame Bush and make sure Bush NEVER answers any criticism.
4. An economy going down the tubs. Let it be said that we would gladly take that economy back today.
5. Stupid people that believed his message, NEVER looking to see that he never EVER ran anything except his mouth. The idiots that voted for him not realizing that the job requires someone that has some common sense. . . . .
That's a start as to HOW we got this Bafoon. . . .

This same old one-act play is getting monotonous...but drama queen obama cannot function without a real or made-up nemesis.

Liberals were once known as 'bleeding hearts"; this was because they are the classic "sucker for sad stories". This trait is based primarily on ignorance and an acute attraction to symbolism and political correctness in order to fit in with certain groups.

The only thing I can see about obama is, he loves to bitch...he is always bitching about something.

It's also obvious that everytime he opens his pie hole, it is to slam some other restriction on the freedoms of Americans. The only "optimistic" utterances that come from his mouth are those known as bogus promises, where something good will happen if you will just support/vote for his policies and/or cronies.

A "straw man" - real or imagined - is an absolute necessity for obama's agenda to move forward. It is used to either make a bad situation seem worse, or to allow him to don the cloak of "victimhood" for the sympathy vote. It also gives him the free pass to claim "racism" when he doesn't get his way (wahhhhhhhh).

So, Bush is his "tangible" straw man, and his intent is to portray Bush as the enemy of all times for America. Now Bush made his share of errors, but I'll take him anyday over this bozo we have now.

The straw men cometh, and you will see many more of them as the elections approach; they will all be white, they will all be conservative, and they will all be clinging to their guns and Bibles.

The "straw man" principle is probably covered somewhere in obama's "bible" (Rules for Radicals - Alinsky) and I'm sure it is a major course in "Community Organizer School".

This president is certifiable....no doubt.

BHOSman
