Tunes For The Troops
**Artist Showcase**
Ronnie James Dio (July 10, 1942 May 16, 2010) was an American heavy metal vocalist and songwriter. He performed with Elf, Rainbow, Black Sabbath, Heaven & Hell, and his own band Dio. Other musical projects include the collective fundraiser Hear 'n Aid.
He was widely hailed as one of the most powerful singers in heavy metal, renowned for his consistently powerful voice and for popularizing the "devil's horns" hand gesture in metal culture.
He was collaborating on a project with former Black Sabbath bandmates Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Vinny Appice, under the moniker Heaven & Hell, whose first and only studio album, The Devil You Know, was released on April 28, 2009. He died of stomach cancer on May 16, 2010.
This music is provided for the entertainment of our Troops, Veterans, Allies & their families!
Enjoy the variety of musical selections that the Canteen Deejays have provided throughout the thread. Please ping any DJ with your requests for the Troops.

I have to diaagree with you on that. Beethoven’s last quartets weren’t well understood until the early 20th Century, nearly a hundred years after his death. What made the difference was Wagner. Once people understood Wagner’s music, Beethoven’s last quartets suddenly made sense.

Howdy AZ and thanks for the ping LuvW. Beautiful night in Texas. Plum wore out from lawn mowing, edging and trimming today but it's the good kind of wore out. The frogs are croaking on the river and we're having a Shiner or 2. ;o)
