Scott Brown switches vote to advance financial regulation overhaul
Boston Globe ^

Posted on 05/20/2010 1:13:38 PM PDT by AlanD

Senator Scott Brown switched a key vote from yesterday and joined 57 Democrats and two Republicans this afternoon in advancing a massive financial regulation overhaul.

The Massachusetts Republican said that over the last 24 hours he received assurances – from the chief negotiators in the House and Senate, Senator Christopher J. Dodd, and Representative Barney Frank -- that changes he was seeking would be addressed. Those assurances came during a phone call with Frank last night, while the Newton Democrat was working out in the House members gym. Brown was further convinced during a 40-mile bike ride he went on this morning with Senator John Kerry.

“We recognize that there’s going to be some fixes here, more than likely, and the conference committee,” Brown said after voting. “I’m satisfied that all of our efforts – Senator Kerry and my efforts – will benefit and protect jobs in Massachusetts.”

“I spoke at length over a 40 mile bike-ride with Senator Kerry about it,” Brown added. “He’s a very good athlete.”

My guess is your days are numbered. You don’t fool me and your past posts speak for themselves

There is a great deal of that going on today with newbies. I just had a tangle with two.

For Scott to believe anything out of the mouths of these lying feces makes me ill. Anyone know him personally? Ask him where his brains are.

He's probably as close to a conservative (and I use the word lightly) as they can find in that neck of the woods. He's an Olympia Snowe/Arlen Spector type who is going to disappoint many who voted him into office ultimately. Most of us wish he was the candidate we thought him to be.

“That was a really dumb question, troll. Can you see how dumb it is?”

I think you are just making excuses for yourself. Answer the question, or just keep quiet. You aren’t fooling anyone.

Again:

NAME ONE DEMOCRAT IN THE SENATE WHO IS MORE CONSERVATIVE THAN SCOTT BROWN.

I am waiting for your answer or an apology, if you have the manners to.

.....just one.....

Nelson of Nebraska. Case closed. There are any number of Dem House representatives from the South who are more conservative.

Well, if you go his ACU ratings, there isn't enough on him to give him one, but I'm pretty sure he's close to the so-called "moderate" Dems like Lieberman and Landrieu (yes, she had a HIGHER ACU rating that both Snowe and Collins, and Brown's voting record thus far is similar to theirs and soon-to-be-former Senator Specter.)

I am awaiting your apology, if you have the manners.

"We recognize that there’s going to be some fixes here, more than likely, and the conference committee,” Brown said after voting. “I’m satisfied that all of our efforts – Senator Kerry and my efforts – will benefit and protect jobs in Massachusetts.”

Hey Scott Brown, you ignorant dumb ass, what about the benefits & protection of jobs throughout the entire U.S. not just your home state of Massachusetts? The socialist bills have nationwide impacts, you stupid dumb ass!!! And what about any financial reforms of Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac that basically created the housing & banking crisis? Did you ask your new ass-buddy Barney Frank about reforms for this?

I'm calling Scott Brown's office tomorrow and going to ream the poor sucker who answers the phone. And I can't want to get my next fund raising letter from Scott Brown....the reply back will be sissling red hot!

Scott Brown just lost his next election in MA, as conservatives & tea party members (myself included) are realizing that Scott Brown is a RINO traitor through & through. Personally I expect he will be the next "Arlen Spectre" to jump ship and join the socialist demoRATs, especially once he starts catching heat on his other turncoat deals with devil demoRATs.

Brown was against ObamaCare and the Stimulus Spending, and LIberman , Nelson, and Landrieu supported all three.

There is not one Democrat in the Senate who is more conservative than Collins, Snowe, or Brown.

Please don’t blame me for Scott Brown voting for the Financial Reform Bill. I didn’t tell him to do that!

Have you have lost your mind?
