Senator Scott Brown switched a key vote from yesterday and joined 57 Democrats and two Republicans this afternoon in advancing a massive financial regulation overhaul.
The Massachusetts Republican said that over the last 24 hours he received assurances from the chief negotiators in the House and Senate, Senator Christopher J. Dodd, and Representative Barney Frank -- that changes he was seeking would be addressed. Those assurances came during a phone call with Frank last night, while the Newton Democrat was working out in the House members gym. Brown was further convinced during a 40-mile bike ride he went on this morning with Senator John Kerry.
We recognize that theres going to be some fixes here, more than likely, and the conference committee, Brown said after voting. Im satisfied that all of our efforts Senator Kerry and my efforts will benefit and protect jobs in Massachusetts.
I spoke at length over a 40 mile bike-ride with Senator Kerry about it, Brown added. Hes a very good athlete.

Why do House members get their own gym? I guess the senators were too good to share that gym with House members so they built another gym for senators only. Such a waste of money to make these representatives feel like they're aristocrats living the good life. I bet they're is even more wasteful spending out there pampering Congressman. unnecessary perks should be given to government officials that aren't directly related to their job. How about we give Congress an "austerity budget"?
That jerk that wants to be our governor signed an apology to the indians for all the bad stuff the government did to them 150 years ago. What I want to know is where is the apology for the atrocities committed on the settlers 150 years ago? Arrrrrrrrggggggggggg!
Scott Brown and Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins are only “important” because there are so Republicans in the Senate right now. Hopefully more GOPers will be elected and they will be forgotten for the most part.
Will take Snow, Collins and Scott Brown over their Democrat counterparts any day of the week.
Actually he made a statement that came down on both sides... kind of. It was pure obfuscation.

ALLAHASSEE, Fla. Florida’s Republican Senate candidate Marco Rubio is supporting a controversial new Arizona immigration law, saying Thursday he changed his position after lawmakers tweaked language in a way that critics say makes it even more harsh.
Rubio, the likely GOP nominee, had said Arizona lawmakers went too far when they passed the law that requires state and local law officers to question people about their immigration status if there’s reason to suspect they’re in the country illegally. It also makes it a state crime to be in the United States illegally.
But Rubio said he’s comfortable with the law since the language was amended in an effort to quell widespread criticism, saying the changes addressed concerns he had about potential abuse.
The new language bans racial profiling and more clearly defines when an officer can question a person’s immigration status, but still doesn’t define what should make an officer suspect someone might be an illegal immigrant.
The new language also allows officials to question a person’s immigration status when they are enforcing civil ordinances, such as playing music too loud or not keeping the lawn trimmed, thus expanding the number of situations in which officers would be required to check immigration status.
“Having visited Arizona recently, it was clear to me that concerns about public safety prompted passage of this law. Since the original law was signed, I believe important changes have been made that address my original concerns and those of many,” he said Thursday through a spokesman.
Rubio is a real star . . I think he has a good future.
This is what happens when you elect RINOS. This Mofo didn’t even stop the Obamacare bill from passing. Now he is selling us out with the nitwit east coast dumbazz twins.
Screw Scott Brown, what a waste he is.
Yuck what you said. I am going to puke now.
A Republican from Massachusetts is much more liberal than many Democrats from the South and other areas. I guess he may be a somewhat better choice than the Dem he defeated. The RNC/GOP is gonna try to sell you another one, Rommney, for POTUS in 2012.
Give me an example of a Democratic Senator who is more conservative than Scott Brown.
Give me one example.
For Scott to believe anything out of the mouths of these lying feces makes me ill. Anyone know him personally? Ask him where his brains are.
Please get real.
“Three Republicans — Maine’s Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins, and Scott Brown of Massachusetts — joined Democrats to vote for ending debate on the bill”

With great disappointment and regret, I think we can officially declare Scott Brown a RINO.
Assurances from Chris Dodd and Barney Frank? Can’t see where he could go wrong there! /sarc
Please let me know if you want ON or OFF my Viking Kitty/ZOT ping list!. . . don't be shy.

Can I get my campaign contributions back?
If we are ever to take over the Senate, we’ll need at least 55 or so to negate the dyed in the wool RINOs. Essentially, he replaced Specter as the third member of the RINO triad along with the Maine sisters.
Speaking of which, this bill allows the government to access and monitor all private bank accounts in the country. Way to go, Scott!
I’m going to say IBTZ on this one because I was just reading his past posts and I would say a ZOT is inevitable and I think he is probably on JR’s watch list. He’s been called out by many longtime, respected FReepers. My guess, his days are numbered. I think he works for Scott Brown.

Thats what you get when FR started using those old re-conditioned servers from the Philipines. Sure you save some money, but you pay for it in reliability. :)
My guess is your days are numbered. You don’t fool me and your past posts speak for themselves
