I don't have any problem with Ward or Palin endorsing. I thought she got it very wrong with the Fiorina endorsement who it is pretty clear that without her ability to loan herself money would be no where in the race. Given the amount of money she's put into the primary race she should be cruising and that she is not and has twice the negatives of both DeVore and Campbell should tell her supporters that she is likely to fail horribly in the general election. She will be targeted as an off-shoring HP executive who had business deals with Iran through a subcontractor? Tell me how long it will take for an ad like that to hit home? It is coming. Overall I think Sarah is great. She speaks out and doesn't retreat from a fight and she is getting better with time but she still lacks some of the political insight that could make her an unstoppable conservative leader.

Ward is a good choice.

This group seem fishy to me. I understand the anger over Fiorina, but to start using phrases like she is being destructive seems odd.

For Baumbach, an ardent Labrador supporter, the visit isn’t so much about Palin’s support of Ward, it’s about her becoming involved in Idaho politics. “I am disgusted by her interference in local elections,” said Baumbach in an e-mail to IdahoReporter.com. “It’s abusing her star power to favor Ward over a man she hasn’t met.”

Sarah Palin was born in Idaho. If she endorses a solid conservative like Maj. Vaughn Ward in the state of her own birth -- is that really "interfering", or just expressing her legitimate opinion in favor of the Republican of her preference?

I mean, if Barack Obama weighed in on local elections in Kenya... well, never mind...

That’s lame to be upset over the McCain endorsement. I would lose respect for her if she didn’t endorse McCain. McCain elevated her to the national stage...it’s just basic decency that she show respect to him.

“...and will feature some “high-level Republican officials” flying in from north Idaho to attend, though he didn’t give names.”

That’s all you need to know about this. The GOP old boys against Sarah.

I wish she would be a little more circumspect with her endorsements and keep her eye on the national picture.

“it’s just basic decency that she show respect to him.”

I respectfully disagree. She showed him plenty of respect by being the only person involved in the 2008 campaign that was actually trying to win, including him.

She owes him nothing. His team picked her because they thought a woman would help them win. It was totally cynical, and they now even say they regret it.

His policies are destructive. She should NOT be endorsing them.

“I was a huge fan, because I believe in people who profess their faith. She’s a good example of why we need to focus on God not man,” Baumbach.

An eggs-in-one-basket man. Interesting. Maybe he forgot the old saying, "Satan and his demons can quote Scripture." (not equating SP to Satan or demons)

For Baumbach, an ardent Labrador supporter,

I would have said she was a dogged Labrador supporter...but, that’s me...

As a matter of fact, he DID do that and Odinga won. And then promptly slaughtered a bunch of his opponents(reports that he cooked them in pots may have been exagerrated, however).

Yeah sounds like a plant. I think the Labrador camp is just upset. I was really pissed off. I’d never been so angry at Sarah before as when she went with Fiorina but hell I can’t stay angry at her for long. She is her own person and sometimes she is going to disappoint us but I’m sure she would never ever disappoint us as much as GW Bush, John McCain, or most of Congress. She has gotten most of her endorsements right in my estimation.

This rally makes no sense.

I agree that we should reject the GOP “kingmaker” mentality, but Sarah has been very effective for the cause of liberty.

When you say “national picutre”, are you talking about her seeking office?

I personally hope she decides not to. She is perfect in the role she is in right now. Public office would reduce that.

-"That’s lame to be upset over the McCain endorsement."

We're drawing swords against each other over "McCain" for goodness sakes!

I support J.D., I hope he trounces McCain, I can't stand McCain, and just wish he would go off an join Arlen in retirement. But, to take this tact against PALIN just because she endorsed someone other than who they wanted, reeks of 'ulterior motives' and questionable sincerity.
