From ABC News...

"McCain was supportive of the Dream Act in the past... we saw him as a champion in some ways, and we hope that comes back," said Abdollahi.
Now the next paragraph is the money paragraph and I certainly hope Arizona voters are paying attention. McCain has been on all sides of this issue and now that he is facing reelection he is trying to convince voters that he will protect the borders. Let's see what he says when under pressure from the left.
A McCain spokesperson told ABC News the senator will support the so-called "Dream Act" as part of comprehensive immigration legislation but only after the Southwest border with Mexico is "secured."

Just turn the whole #$&@ country to the illegals and commies, Juan. Soros has you firmly in the bag . . . pure ho
“John McCain the Republican answer to Robert Byrd”
Actually, Byrd votes much more conservative on border issues than McCain.
I like McCain and wish him a long and happy retirement. The sooner the better.
The last interview that I saw on Fox this week between McLame and Greta, he sounds like he needs to retire and sit on the porch.
Juan doesn’t even want to “secure” the “danged” border. That’s just election-year posturing.
Question is, how many Arizonans will buy it?
The DREAM Act a nightmare for taxpayers

The American people rose up out of their usual apathy and soundly defeated the Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act of 2007 that would have given amnesty to illegal immigrants. Now, some senators are trying to get Congress to pass a backdoor amnesty by calling it the DREAM Act, and it’s really a nightmare for Americans.
The cutesy title DREAM, which is meant to be a double-entendre, is an acronym for Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors.
The DREAM Act would allow any illegal immigrant of any age who entered the United States before age 16 and has a high school diploma or equivalent to enroll in any state university and pay only the in-state tuition rate. Being an illegal immigrant is the prerequisite to getting this preferential treatment, which is denied to legal aliens with valid student visas.
In-state tuition can amount to a taxpayer subsidy of up to $20,000 a year, depending on what the university charges students from the other 49 states. The illegal immigrant also becomes eligible for taxpayer-paid federal student loans and federal work-study programs, for which lawful foreign students are ineligible.
There is no upper age limit; any illegal immigrant is eligible for this preference by declaring he entered the U.S. illegally before his 16th birthday. The illegal immigrant doesn’t have to prove when he entered the U.S.; he can simply make a sworn statement.
But that’s not all. The illegal alien would be rewarded with conditional lawful permanent resident green card status, which can be converted to a non-conditional green card. The immigrant can use his new legal status to seek green cards for the parents who brought him into the United States.

Well, that amnesty didnt work in the past, even under our beloved Ronald Reagan, providing amnesty for about 2 million illegal immigrants. That didnt stop the problem, in fact I think it helped perpetuate the problem. And now were up to 11, 13, 16 million people who are here illegally. Lets learn from historys lessons and realize that amnesty doesnt work. And we go from there. I think that talk about amnesty, talk about what needs to happen with those who are here illegally, its almost used as a diversion so we dont have to talk about what are the tools that are needed to secure the border. We take care of the porous borders first, and then we can deal with the other issues...
There in lies the problem.
We should demand a straight yes or no answer when it comes to amnesty. What is so difficult about that?
HUH? What's not clear?
Hey, I'm all for that...so long as we send them all home first, THEN close the border. Net Amnesty? Zero.
Sorry, honey, once again Sarah clarified herself last night and said no amnesty. Or will you just keep quoting univision?
10 times she has been quoted here on FR, and 10 times she has NOT stated that..
She is categorically against ANY form of amnesty, or “path to citizenship” for those already here.
Funny thing, that’s the specific question *I* asked SJB and his buddies months ago. Only two freepers answered the question. Two.
And once again, you’ve hijacked a McCain thread and turned it into a Palin bash fest.
What the hell does that mean? If you can get in the lifeboat and stay there, you’ll be okay?
I find that hard to believe; got a link to support that?
