As a legal citizen of the United States, a resident of Pasadena, I sat and witnessed first hand the crumbling of what was the foundation that built this great country and city I call home. We are (were) a country and a Nation of laws. It appears that the city council of Pasadena no longer sees it that way

Watch the video here as undocumented workers and residents of the area plead their civil liberties stance and watch as the law abiding citizens whom are protected by the Constitution are ignored, sneered at and questioned even by the Mayor as to where they reside.

The unlawful won. Led by Mr Gordo. Another "if I do not have my ID when I go to get ice cream I go to jail" excuse man. When the council passes their motion to condemn Arizona for protecting it's sovereignty the cheers are heard by those whom came to claim they have a right to be here regardless if the broke the law and those who uphold our laws were scoffed at. It was a moment all Americans should take note of.

I especially point out Mayor Bogaard and Mr. Madison for their contempt of those opposed to the city meddling in others affairs and the ignorance of Mr. Gordo whom wrote this motion.

As much as it goes against my nature I can no longer fight my own elected leaders in an attempt to ask them to protect my liberties and rights as a LEGAL US CITIZEN

Shame on Pasadena for this political grandstanding and ignoring the majority of it's people here in our city.

Watch this video where the citizens fight for our sovereignty and then are dissed by their elected officials.

In the US Supreme Court case of BALDWIN v. G. A. F. SEELIG, INC. 294 U.S. 511 (1935), Justice Cardozo stated the following:

Imposts and duties upon interstate commerce are placed beyond the power of a state, without the mention of an exception, by the provision committing commerce of that order to the power of the Congress. Constitution, art. 1, 8, cl. 3. 'It is the established doctrine of this court that a state may not, in any form or under any guise, directly burden the prosecution of interstate business.' Nice distinctions have been made at times between direct and indirect burdens. They are irrelevant when the avowed purpose of the obstruction, as well as its necessary tendency, is to suppress or mitigate the consequences of competition between the states. Such an obstruction is direct by the very terms of the hypothesis. We are remainded in the opinion below that a chief occasion of the commerce clauses was 'the mutual jealousies and aggressions of the States, taking form in customs barriers and other economic retaliation.'

Webber v. Virginia, 103 U.S. 344 (1880):

MR. JUSTICE FIELD

Commerce among the states in any commodity can only be free when the commodity is exempted from all discriminating regulations and burdens imposed by local authority by reason of its foreign growth or manufacture.

And in Railroad Co. v. Husen, 95 U. S. 465, Mr. Justice Strong, delivering the opinion of the Court, said that

"the police power of a state cannot obstruct foreign commerce or interstate commerce beyond the necessity for its exercise. and, under color of it, objects not within its scope cannot be secured at the expense of the protection afforded by the federal Constitution."

If it weren’t for double standards, liberals would have no standards at all. Those who come from other localities are sneered at for ‘interfering’ in Pasadena’s process, yet they think absolutely nothing about interfering in Arizona’s process.

I’ll miss the Chipotle in Pasadena, as well as the shops that until yesterday I used to go to, but I’m not buying one damn thing in Pasadena. BOYCOTT THE ROSE PARADE and the ROSE BOWL!

Another city brought low by political correctness. Ah well, California has been lost anyway. Soon there will be no industries or taxpayers left to finance Sacramento. That slapping sound you hear is the truly productive people voting with their feet.

I found the email link and sent the following (I suggest as many as possible post something similar):

Since your city has decided that following the law in Arizona is worthy of boycott, I conclude Pasadena is a lawless city.

Thus, I will be boycotting your stupid city and encouraging a few hundred thousand of my closest online friends to do the same. Green Street: No More. Colorado Blvd: No way. Rose Bowl: Not on your life.

The audacity of your resolution against Arizona is breathtaking. The level of anti-Americanism it represents is simply evil.

Pasadena City Council oks the breaking of Federal Immigration Law.

Based on equal protection under the law, it is perfectly ok for you to steal anything you want from Pasadena.

Like that city landscaping? Dig it up and put it in your own backyard.

Car breakdown? Take one of those police cruisers as a replacement.

Seasonal Pasadena Christmas decorations? Now yours.

And if they arrest you, claim equal protection under the law. This should be done in every sanctuary city in America. They can’t pick and choose which laws they enforce.

I can not believe this city council let one member start something like this in a city which not only was built on conservative value hosts one of the entire nations most prized events. The Rosebowl parade.

Mr. Gordo is putting his own beliefs in front of those of his citizens and in a reckless motion toying with the image of this great city to all of those across this nation whom a majority support upholding the law.

Shamed.

I’ll bet the illegals were asked where they resided. Not!

I support the boycotting of the Rose Parade.

I live next door to Pasadena, and I will not frequent businesses within it’s borders or the borders of Los Angeles until they get the message.

What is your point? The Arizona law is not interfering in any LEGAL commerce at all. Are you claiming that the ILLEGAL invasion of our nation is some sort of LEGAL commerce?

Why is it “better” here than in Mexico? They have the basic same climate, fertile soil, hard-working and good people as a work force, natural resources, etc. Yet it is a place from which people want desperately to escape. My thought is that the difference is just one thing: corruption. It is the ignoring of, disrespect of, willy-nilly enforcement of laws which has made the land south of the border a mess. So, how strange is it that they wish to brazenly ignore our laws....laws which make it the place they want to be.
