Over-the-top hyperbole said in the best sanctimonious manner common to all blind ideologues.

I noticed right away that you seem to suffer from that affliction, now run along, you bore me.

Thanks for your comments. We think pretty much along the same lines.

As for liking or disliking W, I’m kind of ambivalent. There were qualities in him that I liked and some I didn’t. One must give him credit for keeping the country secure for almost 8 years, when the whole left wing media government pack of poodles were biting his ankles every darn day. He did that because he has a certain steadfastness, which can sometimes be a weakness when it turns in to stupid mulishness, but served him well when it came to homeland security.

The question is, do you end up disliking the man because you disagree with things he did? I can see the pro side being “yes, he screwed up the country and paved the road for Obozo”. That makes me dislike the man. On the other hand, one can think that the guy is a good guy, really meant well, but just got things wrong. I’m unhappy with what he did, but I can’t dislike him for making mistakes.

There’s a big difference when it comes to my disagreements with libs, progressives, socialists, marxists - in other words, the Obama administration and most dem politicians. In that case, I truly believe they WANT to harm my country, to reduce it, weaken it, lower its standing, overrun it with illegal immigrants, destroy its unique culture, etc. I HATE THEM with a burning passion because they are the enemies of my beloved country: America, the last, best hope on earth.

Actually, spectre, I supported Rudy and left off my regular posting here because of those purges.

So before you start making accusations, perhaps you should look a little closer.

My theory was that if Rudy would have offered to make no changes in abortion laws, that would have been sufficient. However, he never got to that point, because he had so many perfect conservatives attacking him, and also because he ran a poor campaign.

The insane litmus tests so many here demand from candidates (and their wives) has made me search out other sites. I suppose that pleases a lot of people, and I really don't care. I am simply worn out with the nuttiness I see from so many here.

You misinterpreted my post.

I am most certainly well aware of what happened in those dark almost unspeakable days. It bothered me to see brilliant FReepers banned or leave unlike some of those left behind who danced on their graves. And now, Laura gets a pass for saying the very same thing Rudy believed in? Unbelievable.

Funny, you should be the one to reply to me, since my post wasn't directed toward you.

It really can't be argued that Laura didn't mean what she said, because she did. So did Rudy. It appears they think alike, albeit disappointing. It is what it is.

PS.

I tend to agree with you about the litmus test. I was merely pointing out the hypocrisy by applying it to the pass Laura is getting.

I hold nothing against Laura. She was a terrific First Lady.

‘Whatever. George Bush brought the disdain upon himself. I voted for him twice considering the alternatives but consider him to be and was a miserable failure as president.’

Said this many times on FreeRepub....think about it...16 years in office for Bush and Clinton and they were all wasted.

Lara Bush has turned into a real nut. I removed her photos from my profile page, will not be buying or read her book. She is irrelevant.

What is it about Bush wives that they can’t shut up after their husbands leave office?

What’s it going to take for us to stop focusing on what’s different about us (race, gender, country of origin etc...)? Nothing good can come out of it. All it does is lead to “us vs. them” anger and resentment.

In this case, the only thing that matters about the Supreme Court is how the Justice will view the Constitutionality of a case. It doesn’t matter if it’s a he or a she, a black, a white, a latino or an asian. In fact, if they think that sort of thing is important they should be disqualified due to expressed bias.

Take Kagan for example. She will clearly show deference to “female” issues and “gay rights” issues. How can anyone vote for someone for the Supreme Court who you know will give favor a female plaintiff or defendant or attorney based on race or sexual preference?

She is now a private citizen, as is her husband, and she enjoys First Amendment protections

Indeed she does and being pro-choice and pro gay marriage, she does NOT share my conservative views. She is a liberal, probably always was.
