That sounds like a plan to me. We couldn’t be any worse off than we are now. Bush allowed the Iranians to play him for a sucker. He had no plan to discourage Iran from getting the bomb except begging the UN to join us in sanctions. He knew that Russia and China would never come to our aid. The UN despises us. Bush knew that. Why did he grovel?
Now we have Obama who wants to suck up to Iran and every other America hating nation on the planet. He knows that Iran will have the weapon. Don’t ever expect him to do anything about it.
Some people here like George W. Bush. That is their right. But the comments criticizing anyone who doesn’t share their admiration for him is a little wierd. Frankly speaking, I believe that his inexplicable passivity is connected to his desire for global government.
I just finished reading Laura Bush’s book Spoken from the Heart.
The first part about growing up in Midland and about her family is beautifully and evocatively written, an historic depiction of American lives in that era.
After that she had the challenge of making her White House appointment schedule over 8 years readable, and more often than not it was also interesting.
This gracious woman was raised by Democrats and fell in love with a Republican. She never aspired to be a conservative icon, but simply tried to be herself while aiding her husband with his calling. She does not need the approval of any of us, but I will always be immensely grateful to her.
And because of that, I am going to say that I am appalled by the mean-spirited and un-Christian comments on this thread.
No the set up was the spin that we now see in response to a the question about another woman .... not Kagan.
People like me have not been married to a failed President. Having voted against the Bush's opponents three times, I have always been a consistent critic of GW as well as his father, because I always believed them to be One Worlders.
I do not excuse evil because they may have done a kindness. Al Capone introduced soup kitchens in Chicago, during the depression.

I admit I don't go to the Sanity Island threads, but I understand their purpose. The purpose of the thread is to give some people a safe harbor from which to escape to because there's too much nonsense and crap out there to deal with.
Nobody is forcing you to read the Sanity Island. If you don't like it, stay the hell out and stop making it difficult for others who do enjoy going there.

Agree with your post... tired of the trashing of those who SERVED ADMIRABLY. Yes, I have differences of opinion, but can acknowledge the positive. What would those who disparage Laura think had we had eight years of Al and Tipper? Perhaps we had the best that was offered up... and maybe that was as it was meant to be.

Wasn’t Laura Bush a school teacher? If so, then she probably bought into the lib mentality. I’m so disappointed in her. She’s still a classy lady, but, needs to keep her liberal mouth shut. Maybe there was some truth to the stories about her and George having marital difficulties. It could’ve been politically based, if true.
