Not knowing anything about this race, but since I love to vacation in New Mexico, I’d like to know: Is this another case of Sarah endorsing the “GOP establishment” candidate, as with John McLame or Carly Fiorina?

I’m beginning to lose any interest in Miz Palin, to the point of being instantly suspicious of anyone she endorses.

It would appear that you do not live in New Mexico and, therefore, couldn’t vote so not sure why you are even weighing in on the issue.

Admit it, Sarah Palin could endorse Jesus Christ for office and you would claim that Palin should have endorsed the Pharisee.

Susana Martinez is a district attorney in Dona Ana county on the border with Mexico. She is strongly law and order, for secure borders and understands that our small businesses need a break if unemployment in NM is going to drop.

Allen Weh, a former US Marine, is a successful small businessman in Albuquerque. He also wants to strengthen small businesses and is for securing the border. He and others are running against Susana in the primary.

Diane Denish, the dim opponent in November, is a woman and the current lt. gov. I pick Susana because, as a woman and a hispanic, she has a better chance of beating Diane Denish than Weh does.

McCain is a special situation that pained/pains me too, but Fiorina is appropriate for where the race is in California. Did you miss her early support for Rand Paul in Mitch’s back yard? Her strong support for Jan Brewer with the illegal immigration situation in Arizona? Just what other potential candidate have you seen standing up on that one?

Martinez seems to me to be far better than Queeg and more of a true conservative than Fiorina

this is not a pragmatic endorsement like Fiorina was...Martinez seems genuine...more so than Domenici

don’t know anything about the others..maybe someone can tell us

New Mexico will be difficult for GOP in this race...according to polls

then why don’t you just go away, because no one here cares what you think....you never bring anything but Moogly type stuff to any thread with Madam President, under the guise of McCain, and everyone with a brain knows why she endorsed him, so get over it and go away....

If you are “beginning to lose any interest in Miz Palin” why go to the trouble of posting a comment about her?

Hmmmm?

It is good to be suspicious and I understand the anger when someone we love endorses someone we would not!

That said, remember to look at the LIFE a candidate has lived (as far as the public knowledge part goes) and from that alone you can glean what is important to that person.

I would not consider Sarah as a candidate, for instance, if she had turned her back on McCain. As much as I despise MANY of his actions, I love other of his actions, especially his choosing of Sarah as his running mate. (So that we got to meet her!)

Take heart, and don't dump on her too quickly, she may just know more than YOU or I about the candidates she refuses to endorse....oh, and not all candidates INVITE her endorsement. Ya gotta know that before making a decision, right?

You were saying ...

... I’d like to know: Is this another case of Sarah endorsing the “GOP establishment” candidate, as with John McLame or Carly Fiorina?

I would imagine it's the same as my own two U.S. Senators, when they endorsed Carly Fiorina ... too ... they wanted to be able to knock off Boxer ... :-)

I think you have the case, on the one hand, where some people can just "say" -- "I voted for the right candidate!" even if they lost the election ... while others want to say, "We are going to govern, legislatively, in the House and Senate and Presidency for conservatives!" by winning elections.

So, it depends on whether, at the end of the day, you have only "who you voted for" -- or "who is governing legislatively" ...

Anyway, here are my two US Senators ... :-)

Conservative Leaders For
CARLY FIORINA
U.S. Senate 2010

March 5, 2010

Fellow Conservatives:

This November, California will have an opportunity to call Barbara Boxer home and send a new conservative leader to the United States Senate. That new leader is Carly Fiorina. We are proud to endorse her as a fellow conservative who has real-¬‐world business experience and the guts and moxie to take on Barbara Boxer and win.

Carly is not a Washington insider. She is a proven business leader who understands the economy and advocates a strong national defense. And, she is a tough fiscal and social conservative who:

Democrats fear Carly more than any other candidate in the Republican primary. That’s why Barbara Boxer has been using Carly’s name in fundraising letters for nearly two years, while the California Democratic Party employs two full-time staffers to follow Carly around the state, and why numerous union-funded groups have launched independent expenditure efforts attacking her.

Carly Fiorina worked her way through undergraduate and graduate school, majoring in medieval history at Stanford University and earning two graduate business degrees from the University of Maryland and MIT. A self-made woman, Carly started her business career as a secretary and went on to become the first and, to date, the only woman to lead a Fortune 20 company, serving as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Hewlett-Packard Company. Most recently, Carly served on the Defense Business Board advising the U.S. Secretary of Defense on overall management of the department and as Director of Business Executives for National Security.

As conservative leaders in the United States Senate, we know you can count on the principled leadership of Carly Fiorina. We are confident that she will stand with us and stand up for you against the liberal special interests that have kept Barbara Boxer in Washington for almost 28 years.

This is a golden opportunity for the people of the Golden State to come together to elect Carly to represent them in the United States Senate. Please join us in supporting Carly’s campaign.

Sincerely,

TOM COBURN, M.D.
U.S. Senator (R-OK)

JAMES INHOFE
U.S. Senator (R-OK)

JON KYL
U.S. Senator (R-AZ)

Just voted early for her yesterday. A prosecuter in a border county, in a border state, Tough on crime; has made uncomprimising statements on spending, gay marraige, controlling the border. Has crossover appeal in this democrat, hispanic dominated state.
