Maine Republican Susan Collins said Thursday she does not foresee a Republican filibuster of Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan, but shes withholding judgment on her own vote until after the summer hearings before the Senate Judiciary Committee.
And in a statement that may further bolster the prospects for Kagans confirmation, Sen. Scott Brown (R-Mass.), a potential swing vote, said he was comfortable with Kagans explanation of Havards ban on military recruiters at the Law School.

If Collins is that gutless, she’s TOAST and all the rest of the spineless, gutless, pathetic garbage in DC.
In November, VOTE ANTI-RINO!!!!
Because RINOs like Collins won’t allow it.
I think Scott Brown has joined the chorus of the gutless.
Does Kagen rent porn!!! Check out her garbage and movie rental reciepts. Come on, we are talking about the Supreme Court. Lets put some Kennedy into it.
I want a fillibuster of this person. There is no room on the SCOTUSA for a communist.
Maine Republicans need to sweep out the RINO poop.
No, that would require courage and resolve. Not likely.
Unfortunately, Maine will elect whoever it wants. If Snowe and Collins go, they’ll probably be replaced by Democrats.
As for Scott Brown, that is disgusting. It’s OK to ban military recruiters at Harvard because the military doesn’t like to have gays attacking their fellow troops in the showers or creeping into bunks in the barracks?
If the R’s were in charge and an R President made a conservative nomination, we would hear nothing but “this nomination is dead on arrival in the US Senate” from ALL of the RATS. Why do we not hear the same thing from ALL of the R’s?
Hopefully the new platform will be in effect by the time 2012 and 2014 come around.
Because Chris Christie is still in N.J. ?
We all knew this, pick your battles.
When we get control back, if we ever do, her state should be punished.
She’s replacing another liberal, that’s why she’ll sail through. If she were replacing Scalia, that’s an entirely different kettle of fish.
Silver Lining? First, this incompetent Obama clone will replace an outrageous liberal already on the court and she is not nearly as bright as Justice Stevens. Second, the statements and votes cast will further expose the identities of people who need to leave the Senate and will give another clear reason to help them retire...
Rabid liberalism that supports murder of unborn life, sexual deviancy, taking of freedom for the collective, etc. is never right, nor should it be tacitly accepted.
Don’t want to upend the sisterhood.
