Your fries may never taste the same again!
For the first time in 40 years, Heinz ketchup is changing its famous recipe -- by lowering the salt content in an effort to appeal to more health-conscious consumers, the company said yesterday.

I have a deep aversion to non-name brand food items. I am old enough to remember when the store brands were horrible and my parents avoided them at all costs. No matter how good they may be now, I am still highly suspicious.
I was once that way too until I had to reduce my food costs. I find the taste is the same but the aesthetics of the food is not as “pretty” as the major brands. For instance green beans. You may find irregular cuts in the a can of store brand green beans vs the major brand.
I just want my sodas to have the ‘bite’ they used to have. Cokes and Pepsis used to taste much stronger than they do now. They just taste syrupy now. Bleech.
Have a good Friday and an even better weekend to FReepers one and all.
There is a new family of patented flavoring agents, a product of DNA research, that work by blocking or enhancing receptors on taste buds. The big food companies are rapidly getting on board with this stuff, which is added in such tiny amounts that it is not listed separately in the ingredients panel. Nestle, Kraft, and Campbell’s are signed up, Heinz may have gone that way, too. The FDA is allowing the big food manufacturers to lump this additive in with “flavorings”.

I prefer Hunts. You couldn’t give me Heinz free. I would toss it in the garbage can. When I boycott, it’s for life.
Meanwhile, Hunts is getting rid of HFCS and making yummy ketchup.
I can make my own ketchup without a pressure cooker. It just won’t stay for more than a few days and I’m just lazy.
Sometimes, when my body is craving sodium, I make/order burgers and fries just to have lots of ketchup.
Guess I will be switching labels.
‘Health conscious consumers’ probably do not use much ketchup - Heinz will lose its long time customers if they mess with the recipe.
RE: “Easy, stop buying anything Heinz sells. Maybe theyll get the message”

Yes, don’t buy any of their stuff — that includes pickle items and mayo as well at ketchup.
Sorry Tehraaazzzza HEINZ Kerry!!!!!
Screw Theresa Heinz-Kerry. I bought a store brand bottle of ketchup today for 78 cents. Bwaa-Haaaaaa-Haaaaaaaa!
(Of course, it could very well BE Heinz ketchup with a store-brand label on it...)
My stockpile list continues to grow as everyday items will soon be VERBOTEN in what was once America:
Ammo (always!)
Gold & Silver
Cigarettes (for bartering)
Toilet Paper
Garden Seeds
Coffee
Sugar
Salt
Light bulbs
Yeast
Fish Oil
Lard
Toys for my future Grandkids (Fast-Food Kids’ Meals Banned)
Ketchup
Brooks ketchup — but you can’t get it everywhere.
This is stupid. Everything in moderation works for normal people with common sense.
I WILL NOT play the lib’s games. I have always enjoyed Heinz ketchup for most of my life, but they, and Obama’s filthy tribe, can take their products and stuff them where the sun doesn’t shine.
