~Favorite Deck of Cards Song~

Juice Newton - Queen of Hearts

Midnight,
and I'm a-waiting
on the twelve-oh-five

Hoping it'll take me
just a little farther down the line

Moonlight,
you're just a heartache in disguise;
Won't you keep my heart from breaking
if it's only for a very short time

Chorus:
Playing with the queen of hearts,

knowing it ain't really smart
The joker ain't the only fool
who'll do anything for you

Laying out another lie,
thinking 'bout a life of crime
That's what I'll have to do
to keep me away from you

Honey, you know it makes you mad

Why is everybody telling everybody
what you have done
Baby, I know it makes you sad
But when they're handing out the heartaches
you know you got to have you some

Chorus:

Lovers, I know you've had a few
But hide your heart beneath the covers

and tell 'em they're the only one
And others, they know just
what I'm going through
And it's a-hard to be a lover
when you say you're only in it for fun
Playing with the queen of hearts,
knowing it ain't really smart
The joker ain't the only fool
who'll do anything for you

Chorus:

Playing with the queen of hearts

(repeat and fade]

Ace of Base - The Sign

>

I gotta new life
You would hardly recognize me I'm so glad

How could a person like me care for you
Why do I bother
When you're not the one for me
Oooo, is enough, enough

I saw the sign and it opened up my eyes I sae the sign
Life is demanding without understanding
I saw the sign and it opened up my eyes I saw the sign
No one's gonna drag you up to get into the light where you belong

But where do you belong

Under the pale moon
For so many years I've wondered who you are
How can a person like you bring me joy
Under the pale moon
Where I see a lot of stars
Is enough, enough

I saw the sign...

I saw the sign and it opened up my mind
And I am happy now living without you
I've left you, ooohhh
I saw the sign and it opened up my eyes I sae the sign
No one's gonna drag you up to get into the light where you belong

I saw the sign - I saw the sign - I saw the sign

Ben E. King - Stand by me

When the night has come
And the land is dark
And the moon is the only light we'll see
No I won't be afraid, no I won't be afraid
Just as long as you stand, stand by me

And darlin', darlin', stand by me, oh now now stand by me

Stand by me, stand by me

If the sky that we look upon
Should tumble and fall
And the mountains should crumble to the sea
I won't cry, I won't cry, no I won't shed a tear
Just as long as you stand, stand by me

And darlin', darlin', stand by me, oh stand by me
Stand by me, stand by me, stand by me-e, yeah

Whenever you're in trouble won't you stand by me, oh now now stand by me
Oh stand by me, stand by me, stand by me

Darlin', darlin', stand by me-e, stand by me
Oh stand by me, stand by me, stand by me

>>Alan Parsons Project, 1981<<

You want a stat that makes you go HMMMMMMM and wrinkle your brow?

The movie “Back to the Future” was made in 1985. They went back 30 years to 1955 — almost a different planet.

If that movie was made today, they would go back to... 1980! Recognizable to most of us, the year of the launch of the PC, cell phones were big but existed...

This type of music (APP) is played today, not a oldies, but as mainstream music (for the most part).

Compare that to the music, the styles, the culture etc. comparison of 1985 to 1955.

Weird, huh? I still don’t know what to make of it...

>>Steve Miller Band~The Joker<<

I remember in the 70’s guys would have “Maurice” in script on the windshields of their cars.

And to this day no one knows what a “pompotus” is... not even Steve Miller :)
