If senior journalist David Goldman is right, the correct word for describing the way a growing number of US Jews feel about President Barack Obama is not 'anger' but 'rage' – white-hot rage, at that, and a conviction that they have been swindled.
Goldman, Senior Editor of First Things magazine and 'Spengler' columnist for Asia Times Online, spoke last week at a convention on intellectuals and terror at Ariel University in Samaria. In his lecture, he quoted a top Jewish campaign donor who used the word 'sociopath' to describe Obama. In an interview with Israel National News, he predicted a possibly dramatic 'train wreck' for the Democrats in the November mid-term elections, with Jewish fundraising for Democrats drying up and a possibly high turnout of anti-Obama evangelical Christians.

Except for most Jews, Christianity is Christianity. All those different sects of Christianity are about as well known to Jews as the different strains of Judaism are known to Christians.
So to trot out ‘Fundamentalist’ Christianity... is to just trot out Christianity to many Jews.

Well, except Jewish liberals aren't equally offended by all forms of chr*stianity. Black chr*stianity? Hispanic chr*stianity? Eastern Orthodox chr*stianity? Even Arabic chr*stianity?
The only chr*stianity liberal Jews actually dislike seems to be that of poor rural Heartland Anglo-American evangelicals and (to a lesser extent) non-Hispanic Catholicism.

Exactly. They wouldn't believe what was obviously true. Instead, they asked him for a clarification of his views and he told them what they wanted to hear. He didn't change his views. He just lied about them. And the listeners heard what they wanted to hear, and went back to sleep.
Will they still be asleep on election day? All of this grumbling right now is just positioning, putting pressure on Obama, so that he will be forced to lie to them again in the fall. Will they believe him again? How many times will they fall for this act?

And, yes, I do wonder why there is a fascination with 1.7% of the electorate. There are multiple daily threads on Jewish voters. Most typically, the news story is about how Jewish voters are starting to trend conservative.
The rote response is: “Money-grubbing Jews are filthy communists who would vote for Hitler if he had a “D” next to his name; they deserve to be burned alive.”
Those repeated threads and the typical hateful, dismissive,posts are hardly welcoming and indicate a hatred and dislike not pointed to any other group.
