The good thing is that even though we have these potential false alarms, it sends a message we are on the ball, that even a small package goes noticed. It also is constant training.

Very interesting. I find it hard to believe that there haven’t been numerous similar items discarded or just left in Times Square in the past (paper bag, today; cooler, the other day). Why the sudden concern by officials now?

They reported a suspicious package at a church a few days ago. They detonated it. It turned out to be a box full of money. They figure it was a donation.
